March 4th is the new date for our Q&A with the cub scouts. Just wondering if anyone was still interested in attending. So far it's me and Moriah.

Unfortunately Will and I will not be able to make it. We have a tasting appointment with the caterer that day. Have fun and be sure to lead those younglings in the right direction wink

Put me down as tentative. Depends if the nurse can come in on Saturday to watch my Dad.

If you're able to come, John, you ought to talk about collecting--it's your specialty. happy

Here's Mike's old outline to give you some ideas:

Proposed Boy Scout Event Outline

I Costuming
A) Why do we costume
B) What does it mean to us
C) How much does it cost to do costuming?
i) cheaper costumes (Jedi, RFT, etc) vs more expensive costume such as Vader
ii) keep cost down by learning to make things yourself
a) learning to sew
b) learning to build props
c) other costuming talents that can be learned

II Costuming and Charity Events

A) Why do we do charity events
B) What charity events have we done
a. Maybe we can discuss our efforts for Katie Johnson and the dedication to her in Battlefronts in recognition of the members of the 501st.
b. Efforts to raise money for Starlight/Starbright Foundation
c. Food Drives
d. Toy Drives
C) What do we plan for the future (if any thing).

III Non-costuming activities
A) Collecting
B) Reading novels
C) Gaming
D) Writing fan fiction

IV Trivia Contest – We could make a few questions and give out some prizes if people have anything they would like to donate.

If you think of anything else, that's cool too. Anu, you could talk about fanfic. wink

these are just ideas. As it seems we only have a few people interested I'd think we might want to skip things like the trivia contest and considering the short notice we dn't have time to shop for prizes.

I don't know if there's really much to talk about with fanfic. "Hey, kids, wanna learn how to write an AU where Qui-Gon doesn't die?" tongue I could definitely talk about the novels and maybe costuming, too, if no one else is set on those.

Yeah, considering that I just found out last night that we're dealing with a half dozen kids ranging from 6-10 years old, fanfic would definitely be an alien concept to them. laugh

It went pretty well. the kids got a kick out of the costumes, props, collectibles and moriah's artwork. Anu dressed up one of the kids in her old green jedi garb, and while i intended to do jedi training camp with the plush lightsabers they just had fun whacking eachother with them .
