Well, we're back in Holland after a terrific stay in Manhattan! We found your shop, Kristin, but it was closed (don't know when we were there though).
I took up your advice about the Tryon Park Festival. The weather was just lovely and we really enjoyed that festival! Even saw someone with a Rebel Legion shirt, heh.
Not only that, but everything was great! Except pretzels. Man, those are way too salty .
We ate one time at Chat 'n' Chew and I had the mac 'n cheese. Great stuff! We also ate at Simply Pasta, which was very tasteful. And of course, some burgers and pizza slices (those are huge!!). Breakfast was something as well! We'd get those rolls from a nearby deli and counted six slices of turkey!
We spent our nights at the Skyline Hotel (10 Ave/50 St.), which was basic, but everything worked.
I noticed NY is very clean (the streets and all) and the people are very nice and helpful. Something us Dutch can learn something from!
NYC is great and we'll definitely make a second trip in a couple of years!

The Mac-n-cheese at Chat-n-Chew is some of the best I've ever had (and I LOVE LOVE LOVE mac and cheese  ). Even as a NY'er, I always scrape the salt off the pretzels, it might as well be a Salt-zel lol. Wow! You met nice New Yorkers  ? LOL, jk
Thats odd about the shop, we closed on the 2nd for Yom Kippur, but you weren't even in NY yet  . You might have come earlier than we open or later than. Glad to see you had fun in NYC
