I'm torn on the matter.. MC Cain choosing Sarah P. was sheer desperation to try to win over Clinton supporters who are hesitant to join the Obama run. He needed a WOW factor so to speak.
Last night I watched the Ombama film and speech I think on Msnbc. And he rambled on for a bit about beign a working class American. I facepalmed because it seemed he wasn't going to do anything but say his shoes are a little dirtier than McCains are.However he decided to adress his CHANGE finally. Which sadly, wasn't change, he promised things he either for sure couldn't accomplish (ending oil dependency in tens years, he won't be in office in ten years so...)
Or he promised things I heard democrats go for millions of times before. What he did do right was adress the unity and the need to come together on mutal feelings with gun control, abortion, same sex marriage, and those.
All in all I'll have to wait for McCain's convention to really say anything. But If Obama could do what he promised, which most don't, he'd do well.

I'm no fan of political debates involving myself either, but I will clarify this.
He said ten years because it is actually a logical and rational timeframe for such an endeavor and it isn't because that's how long he'll be in office. It's a long term plan that he'll set in motion that will make sure it gets done in that amount of time.
Almost all Presidents have to/should make such plans on certain issues, including this.
I hope that clarifies. If you do not agree (which I would not be surprised, not because of anything personal but because finding someone who disagrees is more common than discovering one who agrees), that is fine but forewarning of what I said earlier. I'm no fan of political debates involving myself.
Not because I can't do them, but because I tire of them. Especially since I'm no politician and am in no position to need to argue, I then logically find no need.
Also: Lets try to AVOID any Political Arguments whether from the current discussion or otherwise! If it starts getting warmed up, stop immediately, we shouldn't have to count on the Mods needing to clean up when we can prevent a situation. Thank you.

It is perfectly feasible to end oil dependency in ten years; fuel cell research, anyone?
The only real reason we still depend on oil is because we're too chicken to give it up.

I'm suppose you make a good point Elu. I don't agree or disagree, I just think he should be more clear in what he meant by that.
