IC: Mikhail Kuranov
Locaion: Large Herbivore Paddock, Jurassic Park

Mikhail's practical mind whirled with different thoughts about the increasing tensions around the Berlin Wall. Gorbachev...he didn't really like it. He was too busy using glasnost and perestroika to make things westernized, really. This was yet another fault he held, and Mikhail found himself longing for Kruschev, or the ages before, at least, all this tension. He loved the Union...to see it fall, well, it would be horrible.

But the Russian pushed that from his mind. He needed to enjoy this park, to take it at one hand, to see what the tourists would see. The car drove through large mountain roads, bumping about. They stopped at the crest of a hill, but he wasn't really looking. He was flipping through a notebook, looking for the latest report from East Berlin. He looked up, then noticed a large scene, one that was seemingly pulled straight out of history.

"Ah," proclaimed Kuranov with a smile, "This must be it." He looked about, curious. "Where are the creatures?" He said, looking about.

IC: Demetrius Green
Site B Labs, Isla Sorna

Demetri smiled apologetically at Snyder. He motioned for the man to follow him. He started for the door and paused before opening them.

“Sorry about the wait. Once in the facilities, I’m going to explain how the process of dinosaur works. I would appreciate it if you would let me explain everything and ask questions once we get into the secured rooms. I don’t like to have people in the lab’s air for too long.”

Demetri didn’t wait for Galen’s answer but continued on. He opened the door into a main hall. Demetri passed through a set of double doors into a cleansing chamber. Once the machines had done their work of siphoning out germs and bacteria, Demetri walked through another door. They entered a walkway above the storing facilities. From their elevated position, the two men could see where the amber fossils were held until their use in the cloning process.

“This is where we hold the amber. The room is kept free of bacteria so all workers wear bio-chemical suits.”

Demetri gave Galen a chance to look at the storing process and then continued passed the glass windows to yet another door. He walked down a hallway and down some stairs into the main cloning facilities. Demetri walked past a group of scientists and up to a large white machine.

“This is the cloning facility. This machine is what we use to isolate the genes of the dinosaurs in the fossils and duplicate them. The result of this, is a dinosaur embryo, inside a artificial egg that does the same job that actual eggs do.”

Demetri walked back past the scientists and through the door to where the stairs were. He passed them and led Dr. Snyder into another cleansing station. This time the room contain white suits that both men donned. Demetrius walked through the door opposite the one they had come through into the nesting areas.

“This is the area of the labs that is used to house the young dinosaurs. After they are incubated and hatched, the babies come here. They are given food they accelerates their growing process. Once they reach a certain age, the dinosaurs are moved to a bigger version of these nests and their growing process is slowed until they can finally be released onto Isla Nublar or Experimental Facilities on this island.”

Demetri led Galen out of the nesting area into another room where the men deposited their suits. He led Galen up some stairs into an airtight room.

“Now if you have any questions, go ahead and ask them. Or if there is a part of the facility or a process you wish to see more intimately, we can go back to that part.”

Jimmy stumbled to his feet away from Ed, who was walking away. He wanted to kill the man, but he needed him right now. Jimmy was a detective. He wore sly suits and solved cases. Gathered intel and, on the occasion, rescued people. He was used to being in the city, feeling the asphalt beneath his feet as he chased down criminals.

That was his world.

Now, ever since a little money was waved in his face, okay, alot of money, he had jumped into this and was paying for it dearly. He looked at himself, keeping his gun gripped tightly. He was covered in mud and pain was radiating from his side.

Swallowing his pride, he looked at Ed's back. "Ed...Ed wait. We need each other as much as I hate to admit it. I hate you and you hate me, that's understood, but we're not going anywhere if we keep fighting." He blew his breath. "Now, that thing back there was weird, and I didn't see it during any of my surveilance missions. My maps are back at the camp and I think we need them before we go off and try to find it."

He tried to brush the mud off of him, only smearing it all over him. "Dammit." He said as he breathed the hot, musty air in and sneezed.

IC: John Hammond, Large Herbivore Paddock, Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar

Hammond would never understand how someone could be so wrapped up in paperwork. No, not just some one. Many, many people seemed far more concerned with petty details and legalities, the tedious minutiae of wonderless existence, than in actual experiences. Kuranov was a perfect example, and his current predicament – very amusing to Hammond – a microcosm.

He dared to ask where the animals were. Hammond chuckled.

And then it happened: one of the four trees they had parked near moved. Then another. Then another. When all four had passed, Apatosaurus ajax standing that had been standing over the jeep let out moan that rumbled from its chest out its long, slender neck. The tail, lazily rippling, passed over the jeep’s hood until the shockingly thin, tapered end brushed the windshield. It was only then that Kuranov seemed to notice he was in the presence of living dinosaurs. The herd of Apatosaurs began to mobilize, the ground shuddering beneath their footfalls. In the distance, a large group of female Parasaurolophus walkeri trumpeted to one another as they grazed.

Watching Kuranov, Hammond grinned. “Welcome to Jurassic Park.”

IC: Chinua Walker, Bahía la Tortuga, Puerto Quepos, Costa Rica

The three men approached the dank bar. It wasn’t the sort of place Chinua Walker liked to spend his time, and he was certainly out of place in his stylish black slacks, well tailored linen shirt, and sunglasses that had no right to be as expensive as they were. But he supposed the bar had a certain charm of its own, and there was no denying that it was precisely the sort of place shady dealings were likely to happen, where no one would poke their nose where it wasn’t wanted. He looked at the two men behind him – Jenkins and Banner – raised an eyebrow, and shrugged. “Peachy,” he said. He turned to the bar, set his shoulders, and walked on in.

It was busy, this place, but his man wasn’t anywhere to be found. He took off his sunglasses, which were quite counter-effective in such a shady locale, and stowed them in his pocket. Jenkins and Banner fell into single file behind him as he scanned the crowd of drinkers. There. The bar had an outside seating area, and there was Dodgson, seated with three others. Walker’s pace quickened slightly. As he emerged from the bar, Dodgson’s face lit up with recognition and he stood to greet him. The shook hands, and made brief small talk before Dodgson finally introduced him.

“This is Chinua Walker. He’s a big game hunter and all around thrill seeker,” he said, and then pointed out the men at the table by way of introduction, “This, Mr. Walker, is Tim Cooper and Julius Hayde, both former Blackwater, and this is Dr. Akio Fujikawa, a marine biologist with us at Biosyn.”

Walker smiled at them all, and his voice was full of upper class British geniality.“Rude of you, Lou, not to introduce my friends. These two are Jenkins and Banner, my field assistants.” Something dawned on him, and he looked at Fujikawa, though he spoke to Dodgson. “Marine biologist? I didn’t know we were going up against anything in the water, Lou. Should I have packed harpoons?”

IC: Robert Muldoon, Office, Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar

Muldoon continued to watch his monitors. Uberstein was in the control room, testing fences, searching for weaknesses and holes, and watching surveillance footage, looking for any clues. Unfortunately, the big leafy tree was more or less a blindspot for the highly placed cameras, and nothing seemed to be pointing there on the ground. An oversight. Harding and Hott were on their way to see if they could check in person. This was a big problem. Obviously the beasties weren’t teleporting, but they didn’t understand it, right now. They couldn’t. Dinosaurs had been extinct for 65 million years. They could make comparisons and inferences but the fact of the matter was they didn’t know anything for sure. Case in point: the Dilophosaurs. No one knew about their venom, as there was no way of telling from the fossils alone. A few good men would still be alive if there had been any clue. And then there was the Carnotaurus. They hadn't brought any to Nublar yet, but those things...they were a potential nightmare...

Muldoon sighed and reclined in his chair, waiting for his walkie-talkie to crackle with ANY news at all.

Halak was saying something about hating each other and needing each other, but Ed wasn’t really listening. He had stopped dead, and stared ahead, not thinking about the fight or even the little yellow parrot bastard thing. On the bank of the stream was an animal. Not like the little yellow thing. No. This was…this was very big, some sort of huge crocodile, grey, with a back mottled in yellow-green and black. It stood, peering down into the running water. It’s head moved slightly left to right and back again, over and over, as it began to slowly raise a forefoot armed with nasty looking, large talons. Suddenly it struck. Water splashed high from the immense force of the blow, and a sturgeon flew onto the bank, stunned. Without wasting any time the beast went for the fish, downing it in a few gulps. What the hell is going on here?

It was then that Halak sneezed. Crap. The crocodile/alligator beast’s head snapped up and focused in their direction, the fish’s tail still hanging from its jaws, half in and half out of its throat. The creature reared up on its hind legs. Crocodiles didn’t stand on their hind legs. Neither did alligators, as far as Ed knew. This was bad. The beast swallowed the fish, lowered its head, and began to approach. Cautiously. This was very bad.

Akio glanced aside as he noticed Mr. Dodson’s attention on something across the patio, standing in place and offering his hand in greetings. The person in question who had garnered his attention was an African fellow in black. He seemed to hold himself with a pride that was quite uncommon in most of the people he dealt with, including Mr. Dodgson. It was an almost…regal air he gave himself.

“This is Chinua Walker. He’s a big game hunter and all around thrill seeker,” Dodgson said, and then pointed out the men at the table by way of introduction, “This, Mr. Walker, is Tim Cooper and Julius Hayde, both former Blackwater, and this is Dr. Akio Fujikawa, a marine biologist with us at Biosyn.”

The Japanese Biologist stood quickly to his feet and bowed slightly, out of respect, before offering his hand, which Walker shook firmly. They might have thought it seemed stereotypically Japanese to by as he had, but Akio felt it only a sign of respect to do so.

Walker smiled at them all as Akio retook his seat, and his voice was full of upper class British geniality, only adding to the air that he had sensed of him. “Rude of you, Lou, not to introduce my friends. These two are Jenkins and Banner, my field assistants.” Something dawned on him, and he looked at Fujikawa, though he spoke to Dodgson. “Marine biologist? I didn’t know we were going up against anything in the water, Lou. Should I have packed harpoons?”

Turning to Dodgson, Akio awaited his response, once again inwardly muttering about what he had gotten himself into.

He continued to look over the fence design, and though the live camera feed. "Damn tree keeps blocking my view....wait a second....THE TREE!" He said as memories of his days in the military and past jobs sprang up. "Smart buggers, they must be climbing the trees and getting out!"
He got up and grabed his walki-talkie, hitting the TALK button, "Robert, I think I figured it out, they must be climbing the trees, it's the ONLY way they could get out, because I doubt they can dig deep enough to go under the cement fence-base!"

Jimmy sneezed again and again and as if his body was having fun, he did once more before turing back to Ed.

"So Ed, what do ya-" He found himself speechless as a giant lizard was slowly approaching them. He wanted to run, but his legs wouldn't move. He had never even seen anything this big that didn't require gas. It looked as if it was glaring at them through its slits of eyes, from what Jimmy could tell through the fog. It was was almost like something out of a movie, the monster was slowly coming out of the fog towards them.

Unfortunatly, this wasn't a movie.

Jimmy glanced at Ed's back and determined that the other man was probably feeling the same thing he was feeling. Resetting himself, Jimmy tightened his grip on the gun and exhaled slowly. This creature was too large to be taken down with a couple of shots, even if this was a magnum. He let his eyes drift down to the physically amazing legs of the beast. There was no way in the hell they were going to outrun the thing if Jimmy made it angry.

He had to do something. He took one step back slowly and looked to left and right. The trees were too closely gathered together for them to have much space to run, and with the length of the thing's neck, he could snatch them up. They could run back to the fence and go through the underpass, the beast was too big to fit under there then they could head back to camp and get the hell out of here. Jimmy started to step closer to Ed, taking only one step forward and reaching for Ed's shirt as if he was handing off a baton.

Grabbing a handful of the old guy's shirt, Jimmy took a fraction of a second to breath as he glared into the lizard's eyes before taking off, dragging Ed along with him, the monster starting to pick up speed. Jimmy let go of Ed as the man started to run by himself. He reached the fence first and slid down into the mud feet first, hoping Ed was alright.

He wouldn't be able to carry all the camp gear without him.

[i]OOC: Darth Rialiti has made my head asplode. But I return!

IC: Dr. Martin DeAngelis, Site B Employee Village, Isla Sorna

Martin sat watching Jeopardy. He didn’t often get the questions right, but he sat, resolutely, trying, as he used to back when he lived in the USA. He cherished this little creature comfort. Satellite TV on an unexplored island in the middle of the Pacific. Oh, and central air conditioning. And a ranch house. And a steak, rare, right from the mess hall. A wonderful night to cap off what had been another crappy day.

What is Puerto Quepos? DeAngelis, thought, and for once he’d gotten the question right.

The steak was tender and well seasoned, and DeAngelis relished the mild squelching noise and the rush of blood under his knife. As he raised the delicious piece of meat, impaled on a fork, towards his mouth, he paused, staring as it dripped blood, sauce and juices. Struck with a sudden inspiration, he picked up the phone. He had to call Site A. He needed Dr. Harding, or Hott, on the phone. Greene would need to hear about this, too. No, Harding or Hott needed to actually come here to witness what he was planning to do. Yes. He’d send for them.

TAG: Everyone.

IC: Dr. Harding, Microceratops Enclosure, Jurassic Park, Site A

Sure enough, there were Microceratops in the tree. Dammit. He radioed back to headquarters his affirmative, confirming Uberstein’s statement. Goddammit.

They had had no idea these little animals were arboreal. They knew the Othnielia were, but these tiny ceratopsians didn’t seem built for it. Hell, millions of years after the microceratops went extinct, its cousins had evolved into the big, heavy, well grounded Triceratops. Who would have thought?

Certainly not the landscapers. That was for sure. This tree would have to go.

The radio clicked again. It was Uberstein’s voice, “Dr. Harding, you’re being asked to go to Site B. DeAngelis is requesting your presence. I’m glad of it: Arnold’s sent for me.”

Harding shook his head. “I can’t go. I’ve got to deal with the sick Stegosaurs.”

“How about AJ?”

Harding, not wanting to speak for her, met her eyes imploringly.

TAG: MoonlightsAngel, Red-Winter

IC: John Arnold, Site B Control Room, Isla Sorna

John couldn’t wait until Uberstein arrived. The outer fence, keeping intruders off the island, had been breached, but it looked like it was done by the weather. Doesn’t mean it was, of course, but none of the security cams were showing anything out of the ordinary except for some riled up Bary…whateverthingy. Arnold’s job wasn’t to learn the names of these damn things.

He lit another cigarette and reclined. Right now he needed to fix the fence. That meant Uberstein would have to come anyway, because Arnold knew computer systems, but didn’t know how to asses the hardware or appraise exactly what they were going to need to repair the friggin’ fence. Arnold took a drag and watched the angry dinosaur rush its paddock fence, jamming its jaws under the hole in the fence that let the river through, undoubtedly trying to grab some fish.

TAG: Red-Winter

IC: Ed James, Baryonyx Paddock, Site B, Isla Sorna

They dove. The big animal hit the fence and tried to get at them under the fence, probing with its jaws and swiping with its talons. Luckily for Ed and Halak, they were out of its reach. The two kept running until they couldn’t hear the beast anymore, then collapsed by the riverbank, puffing and wheezing. A million questions ran through Ed’s mind, but all he could manage was, “Did you…see it? The…the power shed…on the hill…on the other side of the paddock…day’s walk…we can make it….”

TAG: Blubeast.

IC: Pete Milano, Puerto Quepos Port, Costa Rica

Pete found out where Dodgson because Dodgson had seen him first. He heard the man’s voice shout, “Ah, here’s the last member of our team! Hey, Pete!” and turned his head to the source of the voice. There was Dodgson and a crew of men who seemed to have been much better acquainted with one another than an hour or two would allow. That, of course, made sense. Pete realized that when he was told to be the last one to arrive, it must have been a full day, not just a little while, as he had originally assumed. He still had no idea why he was here. He approached the group and started shaking hands.

“So,” said a tall black man that had introduced himself as Chinua, “what’s your speciality?”

Before he could reply, Dodgson interrupted. “Now, now,” he said, “our friend Pete here has agreed not to reveal his profession until you reach the island, and it becomes…couth.”

There was a murmur.

“Now,” said Dodgson, “If you’d all board the boat, we’ll be leaving shortly. I’ve received word my agents will be at their destination soon before you arrive.”

"yes...those look like weather damage, but it's a bit too precise...that angle on the fence looks too sharp to be wind." He said to himself as he looked over the picture. "I will have to see it in person though, might as well getit over with." He turned to Nedry, "You finish the call on this phone, I have to get to Site B, oh, and try to not leave the control room unmanned." He ordered as he got up and headed for the door.
