IC: Mablung
"The King wishes to speak with you, whenever you can."
"I would go now if Lord Aragorn wished it," Mablung said solemnly. The Ranger's face was slightly pale, he grimaced once at a slight pain in his side, but the determination in his voice was a clear sign that his strength was, indeed, returning. He sat up a little higher in bed, smiling at Faramir:
"Still, since the King has no need of me now, I am content to lie abed until my wounds are well and truly healed. It would not do to have all the healer's work wasted." Mablung's humor had returned, he seemed nothing at all like the terrified, blood-covered mess he had been.
At the sound of approaching footsteps, he watched as a tall man in armor stepped into the room. It was the soldier that had been at Faramir's side all those hours ago back at the Black Gate. Captain Faramir had told Mablung the man's name was Ragnar the Giant. A fitting name, Mablung thought.
"Are you feeling any better friend?"
Mablung grinned, rubbing the bandage over his side. "I am feeling very well. The Orc was a bad shot. Does the King request you too?"

"I am feeling very well. The Orc was a bad shot. Does the King request you too?"
"Yes," Faramir answered for Ragnar, "the King wishes-"
A familiar voice cut him off, "The King wishes to speak with all of you."
Faramir turned to see Aragorn standing in the doorway. He nodded his head to the King, "My lord."
Aragorn smiled, "It looks as if you are healing well. I was surprised Faramir and Ragnar found you. What happened to your men?"

RE: The Lords of Middle-Earth: Door of Night
Of
Samuel Half-shadow
Samuel
had already unsheathed his curved blade. He was cutting through elves like butter, they were unsuspecting, but that was changing. Still, though, Samuel had seen no sign of their commander. He was now engaged with an elf, but he noticed something over his enemies shoulder.
He recognized that black armor. He had seen it before. But, that elf, was the odd man out. With a quick flourish, Samuel disarmed the elf before him. He stuck his sword into his opponent’s chest and out his back. Pulling it forth, he exchanged weapons, in favor of the knife he had used earlier.
With a mighty leap, he made a swift attempt to unseat the leader, from his throne of command.
---
Of
Usilidur Wenoway
Usilidur
had just put an arrow between an Uruk’s eyes, when he faintly felt a presence. Dropping instinctively, he heard a blade whistle over where his head had been. Discarding his borrowed bow, Usilidur ripped out his black sword. He turned to face his enemy, with a look of hatred, which quickly turned to surprise.
Samuel Half-shadow was circling him and he blinked. Usilidur raised his hand and called out.
“Hold friend, why do you attack?”
The man had pulled out a curve sword. He waved it lightly, taunting Usilidur. With a huge smile, he nearly took the fingers from Usilidur’s right hand. The next attack was met with sparks, as Usilidur parried.
---
Of
Samuel Half-shadow
Samuel was extremely surprised to see the elf here. Though they had never actually spoken in detail, he had respected the boy. He didn’t fancy the idea of killing him, but if it would get him free of
Saruman
, it was a worthy sacrifice.
Samuel dropped the smile from his face, perhaps the young elf could see his regret. It occurred to him, that Usilidur probably wouldn’t care. He would be overwhelmed with fury, no doubt, making him careless. He only hoped that the man would make it easy on himself and die quick.
---
Of
Usilidur Wenoway
Usilidur was busy clearing his mind, as Samuel pondered. Their fight was light, easy strikes, easy blocks. While boiling with rage, he didn’t want to give his enemy an opening. Still, he was worried about maintaining a lasting fight with the strange human. He looked like he could keep going for days, his endurance endless.
A long fight would spell death, something he could not afford. Despite fear for himself, he was more worried about
Theniniel
. If he died, would their resistance fall? It was futile to think that it wouldn’t. The Uruks had a superior force and with Samuel at their head, they would rip through
Eomer
's defenses of Rohan.
This thought of desperation led strength and quickness to Usilidur’s attacks.

RE: The Lords of Middle-Earth: Door of Night
IC as
Theniniel
The Elvish maiden jumped once to avoid a low sweep from an Uruk blade and swung her own sword in return toward his chest, which he parried. Though thanks to another Elf who had their sword drawn, they cut the Uruk-Hai down. She nodded her appreciation to him and continued on with trying to push back their enemies. After she had silenced another Uruk, Theniniel noted movement in the corner of her eye and briefly turned her attention to it.
Uruks moving onto the causeway with shields protecting them from on pouring down arrows. They were going to attempt knocking the great doors down by force, but she knew there were men behind them, ready for that.
Hearing heavy breathing come up behind her, Theniniel spun on her heel and caught the Uruk off guard by her Elvish speed. Her blade cut through its midsection and knocked it to the ground. If he was going to survive that, it would be a long time before the Uruk could stand and be considered a threat. And so she moved on to the next foe.
Theniniel hurried to help an Elf currently dueling with another Uruk-Hai when her sight caught it. Usilidur off to the other side of the wall, fighting. But with no Uruk. Her stomach dropped miles when she finally saw who his opponent was.
Samuel.
She narrowed her eyes at his form. What was
he
doing here? she mused angrily and glared hard. The others could handle it for now, she had to help Usilidur. And maybe even kill him herself. But it would take sometime to reach the two.
Hang in there until I get there, Usilidur,
she thought and took off running behind the line of battling Elves and Uruks, her blade out to quickly push aside her enemies.

RE: The Lords of Middle-Earth: Door of Night
Of
Usilidur Wenoway
Usilidur was being worn down. He was already exhausted from firing his bow. His arms were sagging as he tiredly parried. He was beginning to lose track of his fight. But, just before it got out of hand, he snapped back in. It was a nightmare. Usilidur was going to lose.
He shook himself again. Samuel’s aura was corrupting him. He needed to have hope. He needed something to fight for. Something he already had. Something like Theniniel. It had the right effect, because Usilidur calmed down and he was able to control his body.
Horribly and ironically, as if conjured from a dream, Usilidur noticed the very thing he longed running for him. His face drained color. Theniniel was on a crash course for him and Samuel.
She would die. Usilidur had no, doubt. He blinked and nearly missed a swipe to the face.

OOC: Oops, forgot he switched.
IC as
Theniniel
Theniniel raced toward Samuel and Usilidur, rage burning within her eyes. This was the man that had disappeared after learning of the company's quest for the Door of Night and had told everything he knew to Saruman. Their enemy. And now he was here in person, fighting against the man that she loved. He would die and it would be by her blade.
With practiced grace and speed, the Elvish maiden easily dodged an incoming swing from an Uruk and quickly drove her long shimmering blade right through his midsection. Yanking out her sword, she sent a firm kick and knocked him to the ground. Not even taking a moment to regain her focus again, she rushed off down the length of the wall.
Right as Samuel began lifting his knife to slash Usilidur, Theniniel dove forward and brought her blade in between him and her love. She glared coldly at him when he met her gaze, in surprise no doubt. "You treacherous snake! We should have killed you before you could leave!"
Narrowing her eyes, Theniniel pushed Samuel's small blade away and moved in front of Usilidur, preparing her sword to parry any sudden attack or move. "Now, Samuel, you have envoked the ire of the Elves. You will die tonight. And by
my
blade, make no mistake."

Samuel
shook his head. He spoke with clear conviction.
“I lack the ability to die. It’s embrace has been long denied me and you are not the one to change course. Abandon this fight,

Samuel leapt thunderously at the elven maiden. His blade sung with disastrous fury.

Usilidur
jumped to meet the attack. His face bore hatred, seething discontent was announced with a grunt. But, anger alone was not enough to defeat an experienced swordsmen. While, he struck head on Samuel’s blade, effectively knocking it away, Usilidur missed a fist.
Usilidur fell back and off the battlement. Upon reaching the ground, his head jerked back, throwing him from consciousness.

Samuel looked curiously, with admiration, at the stationary form of Theniniel. He spat.
“Would you die for him?”

Theniniel
“I lack the ability to die. It’s embrace has been long denied me and you are not the one to change course. Abandon this fight, Theniniel, it is not yours.”
Theniniel narrowed her sharp blue eyes as she held her stance perfectly still, her sword held aloft with both hands tightly gripping at the cold metal hilt. "You will find out tonight that you will be wrong."
Before she could say anymore, he charged at her with his short blade and just as she went to move to parry the swipe, Usilidur blocked first. As he shoved the blade aside, lightning above struck, lighting the entire battlefield for just an instant and then darkening again. And in that moment, she had seen the unblocked fist of Samuel. It connected with Usilidur and sent him completely off the wall.
"USILIDUR!" she shouted out and quickly moved to the edge, staring down at the ground to see if he was even breathing still.
“Would you die for him?”
Theniniel snapped her head up at Samuel, eyes ablaze with hatred like a storm. Slowly, ever so slowly, she moved toward him, as if an deadly animal staring down its prey. "I would gladly give my life for him, but that will not be needed. You
will
die, Samuel. Mark my words. You will die tonight by my sword. And if I can, then I will
gladly
choke the very life from you by my mere hands."
The Elvish maiden swung her sword aloft. There would be no mercy for him and she would make sure that every time she struck, it would be a deadly blow each time. She sprung toward him after the land became a brillant white from another stream of lightning, swinging and aiming her blade directly at his heart.

"We were tasked this charge by Middle-Earth itself,"
Interesting, very interesting,
mused Alagosir. Middle-Earth itself, huh? The air about her and the way she spoke and held herself reminded him a lot of Darcyn. If he was correct in his guessing, then he prayed the Valar that the two would never meet face to face. How he was so wrong...
The door to the healing house opened swiftly and Darcyn was exposed. "'The Door of Night'? What the Hell is that?"
"Darcyn," Alagosir spoke out firmly, catching everyone's attention. "You
must
be laying down, this does not concern you."
"But I thought something was wrong..." he explained in an "innocent" tone. "So...what's goin' on?"
The Elf sighed and moved to push Darcyn back into the room. "As I had said, nothing that concerns you." He said calmly and tried to shut the door behind him, but Darcyn's hand was keeping it open.
"Oh! Is this about your 'extremely dangerous' quest? I want in!"
"Darcyn Arien! That is enough!" Alagosir quickly quieted him and managed to get the door out of his grasp and shut it. "I am no longer asking you to lay down as I friend, I am
telling
you to lay down. You are going to injury your ankle worse if you keep doing this. I will say no more on this matter." He stared at him until he sighed and kept quiet, which he nodded approvingly at. "Go lay down and please do not get up again."
"Fine, fine." He sighed again and moved off to the bed, limping.
Alagosir stayed there to make sure he got in bed okay and then left the room, closing the door quietly behind. "Excuse him for that interuption." He smiled and looked to Tareya. "Would you be able to show us to the Door of Night?"

’s on it’s path. He had merely stepped back, to avoid the slash. His eyes danced in the flashes, his face a strange mixture between joy and concern. He was further regretting attacking
Usilidur
.
Killing one commander was enough, but two lovers, was ruthless. Samuel wanted to leave the conflict with a steady hand, and a tranquil mind. Sparing one would solve his problem, but it would cause more pain. However, defeating pain would only make the survivor stronger, hardening their resolution.
All of these thoughts had happened instantaneously, leaving Samuel with Theniniel, back on the wall. As he stood, his voice rang out loud and reproving.
“Please, Theniniel. If discontent was all that was needed to defeat me, I would have died a newborn.”

Theniniel
Overwhelming tears pressed sharply into Theniniel's eyes as she stared down Samuel. For all she knew, Usilidur might not have survived such a fall. And that fearful thought threw her over the edge of emotions. She gripped the wet hilt of her sword so tight that the blade high in the air began to shake with her trembling body.
“Please, Theniniel. If discontent was all that was needed to defeat me, I would have died a newborn.”
"ENOUGH WORDS!"
Using her speed and grace, Theniniel charged forward at Samuel once again, slashing her sword horizontally at the side of his midsection. The swing was hard and quick, using all of her strength in every swing. When he had blocked her blade, tears streamed down her face, but she ignored them and quickly pushed back in again, her sword screaming down through the air aimed at the opening in his neck.
I will KILL HIM!

ducked, losing a few hairs to

’s blade. It was hungry for his head, though. Strands of hair would only satisfy the monster for a moment. Samuel pushed back and up.
A meter away, but now standing, Samuel continued to taunt his opponent. With any luck, he would be able to disarm her and revive
Usilidur
. But, he needed to make his current opponent drop her guard.
“You cannot keep up such a pace, dear Theniniel. Your arms will begin to drop, your edge will falter.”
Her energy would only last so long. Then, he would reap his reward, to disappear, as before. But, now, he was even feeling the effects of battle. He did not have the motivation of losing a love to push him. It was him alone, as always.
The same as when he had met the young elf, long ago. The same as it would be in a hundred years. He was destined to walk alone.

Theniniel's blade had been blocked and pushed away and Samuel used that moment of her being pushed back a bit to straighten himself. She fixed her grip on her hilt, her knuckles turning white again and narrowed her eyes, tears still pouring out of the corners of her sharp eyes.
“You cannot keep up such a pace, dear Theniniel. Your arms will begin to drop, your edge will falter.”
She shook her head firmly at his comment, emotions pushing her even further over the edge. "YOU WILL DIE, YOU
MURDERER
!" Theniniel screamed out at the top of her lungs, even over the crashing sounds of sword against sword and the heavy rain. "DIE!" she screamed out once more and charged at him even quicker this time, hitting her blade against his and using her strength to push him back, gritting her teeth in rage and shed tears running down her face all the while.
"
I will not let you live!
" Theniniel pushed against him once more and harder this time.

IC: Mablung
"My lord," Mablung bowed his head in respect, face flushed, wondering just how much his king had heard of their conversation.
Looking up, the Ranger swallowed, casting a quick glance at Faramir and Ragnar before beginning, "My men--they were all good men, my Lord--we were scouting out the defenses of the Black Gate, as you ordered." He gripped the sheets of his bed in frustration, letting out a long sigh.
"We were ambushed by Orcs, my king. My companions were all slaughtered...I fled, and escaped with a few wounds to show for it." He let out a dry chuckle, "I never even saw the filth that gave me this," he explained, motioning to his bandaged side.
Mablung's eyes were glazed with a far off look, as if he were seeing the Black Gates before him even now, "Thousands of Orcs, Lord Aragorn, perhaps as much--no, at least a hundred thousand, likely more. The Dark Lord is gathering a great army about himself, and I fear we, alone, shall not long stand against such might."
His voice was almost a whisper now, his face drained of blood, "I saw a terrible sight, my king, the Mouth of Sauron himself!" His voice cracked, "He was returning to his Master, I know it. Lord Aragorn, he carried the Ring..." his words trailed off, and he waited tensely for some response.

IC: Eomer
Eomer looked to the hills, they were beginning to be flooded with Uruks as well. He looked to the wall again, arrows had ceased to be flying from the top of the wall, and now only came from behind it. He thought about pulling his men back, leaving those in the mountans to die, but he remembered: the wall still belonged to them. Helm's Deep still belonged to them.
"The hills! The hills!" he called out to those who still were able to shoot. "They are being overrun!" A volley of arrows flew to the mountains where Usilidur and Thenniel fought. Suddenly, a large explosion threw Eomer to the ground. An evil concoction of fire, stone, and black magic, opened a gaping hole in the deeping wall, that was once a small culvert.
Eomer picked himself up off the ground. His vision blurred and his ears rang. He bent over, put his hands on his knees and shook his head, notcing that his helmet was removed in the blast. After a few seconds his vision cleared enough for him to find his sword, he turned to the breach only to see a large black blur rushing through.
TAG: All at Helm's Deep
IC: Aragorn and Faramir
Aragorn's countenance quickly went from a smile to one of horror. All words and thoughts escaped him except for that of an unstoppable black flood rushing over Gondor. For the first time since he was crowned, Aragorn felt fear. He struggled to come up with a kingly response, "Minas Morgul attacks from Osgiliath, Barad-Dur attacks from the Black Gate, Sauron is looking to surround us, cut us off from all our allies."
He paused for a moment and cleared his throat, "And the Ring? You are speaking of the One Ring that Isildur cut from Sauron's hand, with this sword?" Of course he knew the answer to the question, but he couldn't bear to think of it.
Faramir spoke up, "We shall not escape this doom."
Aragorn thought for a few more seconds, "I don't know what fate lies with us. But we shall fight to the last man. Faramir, your brother now defends the southern gate with five hundred men. You need to bring him back to Minas Tirith, we will need all the help we can get."
"Yes, my lord," Faramir nodded.
