IC: Althing
Father Cassus' Apartment
Althing cursed under his breath. He glanced down with a fleeting look. His face came back up with a stricken expression. He glanced around the room. In a panicked voice he said with a stutter.
“Did yo…? How? The Mortals on Earth aren’t supposed to know about that part of the galaxy. How did you know?”
Althing was smiling on the inside, but showed nothing. He preformed a paranoid glance around and got really close to Mike.

Borachio
Near Royal Albert Hall
Borachio nodded his consent. He looked to Jason, motioning for him to follow. He wanted to get as close as possible to the Hall without actually getting inside. If a demon decided to show itself, he'd be able to get inside quickly, and even revert to his angelic form.
"Doctor, we have to be careful, and keep a low profile." That would be difficult, considering neither of the duo were dressed properly for such an event.
"And I'm going to give you a short lesson on demons."

Jason Carver
Near Royal Albert Hall
Jason gave Malik a farewell nod as the angel left him alone with Borachio. He tried his best to look inconspicuous as he followed the older angel, and briefly wondered if Borachio really
was
older than Malik, if he just chose to look older in mortal form, or if they were both equally ageless.
"And I'm going to give you a short lesson on demons."
Jason blinked out of his reverie and nodded to Borachio. "Let me guess--they're the bad guys?" he joked, giving the angel a smile that probably wasn't very convincing.

IC: Ayda
Father Cassus’ apartment
Eyebrows raised, Ayda watched both her fellow angel and the witty little human with clear amusement, Achan dozing slightly in her lap. She was about to snatch the cigarette away from Althing and put the little deathstick out, but contained herself when he put it out himself.
Ayda smirked a little at the Gandalf comment and then Master Yoda came along. Laughing mentally, Ayda’s face fell into a serious, slightly panicked façade, her eyes widening slightly and tensing her muscles on purpose. She looked from Althing to Mike and back, waiting the human’s reaction impatiently.

GM OOC:
Deep, deep apologies to everyone awaiting my update … work got a bit busy in the last few days, and in honesty I was in a state of fatigue over the RPG, but I’m back on the horse and ready to go again!
As always: if you’re not tagged, I’m awaiting your reply or that of someone else in your thread.
KraytDragon90:
I think that’s relatively acceptable.

Seph,
I’m borrowing Mike Suthers for one line. Hope you don’t mind.
Thread #1: “And the Oscar goes to…”
Randy1012, Winged_Jedi, Penguinator-176, blubeast1237
Near Albert Hall
London, England
As the angels quickly discussed their next move, a couple of things were apparent from the situation.
The first was that there was a damnable lack of apparent demonic activity in the vicinity of Albert Hall, which could have indicated one of two things: either there were no demons present … or the demons, like
Malik, Borachio,
and
Kane
, were in human form with their infernal signatures damped as a result.
The second was that
Kane’s
earlier exploits in bringing Doctor Eltiades to Albert Hall had achieved a certain impact. Namely, a police car was now cruising around the streets nearby the Hall. In addition, a couple of security guards had wandered out of the Hall and were curiously looking in the direction of the bottom of the steps. Perhaps they’d been advised by Doctoe Eltiades.
The third was the scale of Albert Hall itself. The building stretched the equivalent of a good five storeys into the air, floodlights illuminating the gargoyles and sculptures that adorned the building’s exterior. It was a Hall that could hold a good two thousand people inside it at any one time, and principally designed around the great auditorium in the centre-rear of the structure. There were mezzanine floors inside the building, and, one supposed, any number of windows further up the building or back doors to the place.

Thread #2: That Old Time Rock and Roll
SephyCloneNo15, Tiborax, MoonlightsAngel, Morkai, NickLitYouAFlame
The Presbytery of Father Cassus
London, England
Julie Clapham had been watching the byplay between
Mike Suthers
and
Althing
with a certain horrified fascination. “You weren’t born? Mortals? Who
are
you people?”
Caliban,
who had similarly been watching the conversation with arms folded across his Pantera T-shirt, turned towards her with a semi-amused look. “I am afraid
Althing
does not fit the image well, Julie Clapham. Perhaps we should have introduced ourselves earlier. He is
Althing.
The name of the girl with the little dog is
Ayda.
I am
Caliban.
We are servants of the One True God. What mortals like yourself call angels. So we are now introduced.”
“I think the Yanks would say you need to work on your sales technique,” said
Mike Suthers.
Caliban
threw him a look and then glanced back at the other angels. “Well, my brothers and sisters, what do we do? Forty or fifty vampires is nothing to be underestimated. And whatever their martial skills, one does need to consider they called for demonic reinforcements back at the church. One could assume a demonic presence at this club, surely?”
“Demons? You mean like actual demons from hell?” said the girl.
“I do not know if we are up to this task alone. Perhaps it may be meet to call on
Michael
for assistance,” said
Caliban
, ignoring the girl.
Which wasn’t ideal,
Caliban
knew; the archangel was a hands-off sort of celestial, principally expecting angels to come up with their own solutions. His reaction at being called to Earth might well be annoyance.

Thread #4: “I went down to the crossroads…”
SephyCloneNo15
The Crossroads,
Louisiana(?), United States
Nyneve
snarled his rage and stretched a screaming F-bend out of the guitar, building the tempo up faster—
Which was when it all, figuratively speaking, went to hell.
The cornfields around the crossroads swayed and
moved.
It didn’t seem possible, but suddenly the corn was bending over the road, lashing out at the demon. Dimly,
Azylain
realized what was going on. The crossroads would have been the ordinary place for a spiritual duel of this kind, a border between worlds … but the roads leading to the place were wild territory for both good and evil. And the whim of the territory had suddenly turned against them. Corn stalks smashed against the road, and the thunderheads above growled their displeasure. This was a wild place now.
Nyneve
smashed a piece of corn aside, and four more stalks bent towards him. The air filled with the promise of lightning.
Azylain
had but seconds to decide what to do…

The Targee Pass,

“Frost,” said the bearded man speaking with
Harmon Dean.
“My name’s Jack Frost. Why don’t you step into my car?”
Five or six miles away, the woman trucker still seemed to be in a state of shock. “I – I don’t –” She suddenly seemed to clear her mind, and looked around, up at the strangely-dressed and armed men who were looking curiously down at her. Oddly, though, the first emotion that rippled from her was concern, and she scrabbled over towards the edge of the ravine, though there was no apparent indication of any suicidal intent.
Instead she looked down into the ravine and at the truck far below.
And started crying. “No – the meds – it can’t be! They’ll spoil!” She looked back at the two angels. “The medicine in the back of the truck – it’s going to go bad! I can’t –”
She fell into sobbing again.

Thread #6: A Serious Case of the Peter Petrellis
blubeast1237, Darth_Elu
New York City
The calming dweomer
Michelle
breathed into George’s spirit took. It certainly surprised
Apollo,
who wasn’t aware of Fallen retaining any of their angelic abilities in the mortal realm. But he could clearly feel the sudden wave of peace that rippled out from George Malley’s heart. It was damping the storm of fear building up in the human’s heart as his vital functions slowed, the rhythm of life faltering within him.
And then it began to happen.
Though the rhythm of life within the human was moving from a 4/4 beat to an unsteady staccato, there was an answering pulse from somewhere inside the universe itself. A pulse that
Apollo
had felt before, and which many humans felt at this hour.
It was not a physical pulse, but a spiritual one – a foghorn’s call in the darkness, a lighthouse in the clouds of fear – a pulsing that called to a human’s soul.
Calling it home.
For it was a pulsing that came from the gates of heaven.
In mortal form he could only sense what he had seen happen in angelic form. Right now, although George Malley’s eyes were on that of the Fallen, they would also be seeing something else. Maybe six or seven feet behind the Fallen; maybe right next to her. But they’d be seeing a bright light that did not cause his pupils to contract; hear a voice that moved no hair cells in the ear.
“Oh,” coughed George Malley, to
Michelle.
“Oh, my.”

It was at the moment
Feanor
raised his shield that he heard the bullet
crack
from the gun.
But it wasn’t from the direction he was facing. It was from behind him. From the civilians he’d told to go out the door. And with it came the clear ripple in the ether of a demonic presence, from inside the cafeteria.
Feanor
could see, in the reflection of a window beside him, one of the students standing up, eyes smoking red, leveling a 9 mm pistol in his direction…

IC: Feanor
As he saw the red-eyed student, he spun around and dropped to a knee. A demon! Feanor had thought the gunman to be some crazed human. Why was a demon killing students in an obscure university? He felt a flash of anger at himself for being so easily fooled before he shoved it away. There was no time for that; he had a job to do and he wouldn’t let Danyael down. With the shield still between him and the demon, he concentrated on the gun he held and grabbed it with his power of telekinesis and attempted to wrestle it from his grasp. Blasted demons, Danyael never would have made him wait if he had known it was a demon here.

SephyCloneNo15:
Think of it this way: there's something of a "shield" around the Crossroads themselves when a musical duel is on. However, standing outside of the crossroads as you are, the protection of that shield is not available. The primeval magic of the location is reacting to the demon's music (though I hasten to add it is not under Nyneve's control) and now wants to eat you.
Does that clarify it?

Phelan watched as the large woman, which was still in question, scurried, or rather wobbled to the edge of the ravine. She cried out in anquish. The woman babbled something about medications and Phelan grinned. He walked over and nudged her.
“Did you lose your pills, crazy?”
Phelan put his hand on her beefy shoulder and saw her past. He only went to recent years, trying to avoid anything really deep. He found the word meds pop up a few weeks ago. She had been waiting for a shipment of them. Some cure or something. Phelan took his hand off of her and his eyes rolled. He shook his head and sighed.
“Looks like we got a case of the spilled milk. Or rather spilled purple sick-flavored near-liquids.”

Harmon raised a bushy eyebrow at the good man's name. Jack Frost? Of course Harmon had heard of the name in stories all throughout his life. Surely the only thing this man and the other Jack Frost shared were their names. Then again, the way Harmon's day was going, he would only be moderately surprised if this man was the same man found in tales all throughout the world.
"Pleased to meet you, Mister Frost," Harmon smiled.

Hadrel blinked in surprise at the woman's odd reaction as she scrambled toward the ravine. Only for a brief second did he think she was going to fling herself over the side. But that was brief.
After Phelan's comments, however, things became a bit more clear.
"Oh," Hadrel smiled a little despite himself, "I see. Don't worry, ma'am, I'm sure you'll get more meds soon enough if you just calm down and let us get you out of here."
The way things turned out some times...the angel shook his head but stifled a chuckle.

Michelle Nikita IC:
Location ~George Malley's Apartment, New York City, New York, United States
Michelle quietly held her peaceful gaze with George, watching sadly as death slowly overcame him. His approach to Heaven come closer and closer.
And through it all, though she never wavered or let her gaze go from him, she received a barrage of images. Of the past. Of death. Of why she fell. But she did not show this, besides perhaps biting her bottom lip gently for a moment.
And as he murmured, Michelle quietly whispered to Apollo, in a voice that shook slightly, "Your mission has been accomplished. You can leave any time."
She didn't mean to sound hostile, even with the weak voice she had then, but death
had
always upset her. Even from the beginning. And plus, this was his mission and it was completed; let alone he obviously thought little of her. So no need for him to stick around.

RE: Legio Angelus: Far From Heaven
George Malley's Apartment
-Angel of Nephriel,
Apollo
George Malley was dying. Apollo could see the life drain out of his eyes and the bitter shift of temperature as a sweeping coldness swept through the room, a coldness that was common with death. He preferred to think that the cold came whenever something died, no matter how big, no matter how small. The coldness probably varied upon organisms, he believed, and how attached they were to the departing spirit. Humans might say they felt tremendous sadness, pity, doubt, among other things, when someone died. Animals might not act their normal and go off and "sulk" in their own ways. Even when plants died, there seemed to exist the feeling that something wasn't quite right.
His thoughts were taking a form in the Fallen now, as she seemed to have lost the color in her face, probably the effects of having the last light of hope doused in front of her very eyes. She had cared for the man in his last hours and maybe now she was feeling that all she had done was in vain of the inevitable.
But Apollo felt nothing.
What could he feel for George Malley, a sick man that he had just met. It wasn't just the fact that he barely knew the man, people cried for people they didn't know. No, it was that he honestly didn't care. Like all other things, George Malley had to die. Why should he feel sorrow or despair for this man? He considered if he had known George Malley for years, would he have felt something now.
Apollo laid his hands on the Fallen's shoulders as he saw that she was holding Malley's gaze like a physical burden, about to demand what she was doing, but figured it out quickly. She still has powers, he thought before she quietly whispered to him that he could leave, that his mission was done. "Are you going to be alright?" The words came out of his mouth before he even knew what he was saying, but he let the question remain, as did he.

OOC: Ugh, keep missing these tags! Sorry to keep you waiting, Randy.
Borachio
Royal Albert Hall
Borachio nodded at Jason's comment, missing the humour. "Most of them were like us at one time, long, long ago. I remember speaking with Lucifer, once, before the fall."
That was eons ago, before mankind had begun to weave a path, before there was an earth for mankind to live on. The angel enjoyed that time, enjoyed the toils of that time, the bliss of it all. Lucifer's fall changed that.
It wasn't that Borachio resented the demon's acts or motives, nor did he feel an elegiac sadness for the days gone by. What had happened had happened (though Malik would have said otherwise) and there was little he could do about it.
"Demons are, essentially, Angels, though fallen from the Lord's favour. Where we strive for a greater good in the world, they want to corrupt your hearts and minds. As far as finding them goes, if a demon is unmasked in it's true form, you'll know. The hard part is when they're hiding."

"You mean you can't see them? Don't you guys have some sort of magical means of knowing when another angel or a demon's around, like in
Highlander
?" Jason asked. He chuckled at Borachio's blank look. "Oh, you never saw that one, huh?" He shook his head, letting it go.
"Anyway, my point is, we could be surrounded by demons right now and neither one of us would know it," the doctor continued, looking around at the crowd. "How do you angels deal with them, and what can someone like me do if one of them shows up? I swore the Hippocratic Oath, but I doubt it applies to demons..."
