"Go now!" Santiago said urging his troops to move. THe squads got up from the depressions and charged toward the bunker. Suddenly a line of shielded Jackals and a squad of Grunts appeared from the smoke and started to fire. Sergeant Santiago fired an entire clip into the line of Jackals taking out three or them and a couple Grunts. THe rest of the Covenant were reduced to blood and guts by the other Helljumpers.

"Keep moving!"

Suddenly a huge creature came out of the smoke. The behemoth was huge at least eleven maybe even thirteen feet tall, bigger then any Covenant Santiago had seen.

"****..." he said under his breath. "Concentrate fire on that thing!"

By the time Santiago got that out already four of the Helljumpers were blown away with holes in there chests as another behemoth appeared next to the other.

The behemoths did not seem to be interested in rushing forward to take advantage of the disruption they created. They seemed only interested in defending the bunker. They stayed very close together so they could not be destroyed in detail.

Finnerson reacted rather than thought. He fired off three three-round bursts into the nearest leviathan. The thing hardly even flinched. Instead it turned towards him, lowering one arm that bore what appeared to be a shield, albeit a metal one unlike the energy ones the rest of the Covenant seemed to favor, and brought its weapon to bear.

Finnerson scrambled as a thick, sparking beam of green light erupted with a screech and blasted across the field towards him. It missed, but only barely. The Radiation sensors on Finnersons HUD screamed at him as the blast surged by.

Before it could line up a second shot, finnerson plucked out a fragmentation grenade and tossed it. He'd always scored well on the grenade toss in training, and his aim was true. He properly led the Covenant monster, and the grenade bounced off the ground and up behidn the beasts shield to burst full against it's chest.

The creatures staggered back against the explosion, but caught its footing and, amazingly, did not fall. Apart from a few blotches of Orange cream-soda fluids on the ground at it's feet, it seemed unhurt. Then it focused on Finnerson and charged...

"Get out of the way Finnerson!" Santiago yelled as he pushed the man to the ground. The Sergeant fired an entire round into the belly of the oncoming monstrosity. It flexed its spines on its back and charged. A single green bolt streamed toward Santiago but he dodged it.

Santiago quickly got to the ground and grabbed Finnerson dragging him into a ditch.

"Get all the grenades you have and prime them!"
