Since I was driving, I would have a pretty good idea at who is where, so I want to shoot the people behind me. I figure it might somehow be Nimrod and Tanner, and I have it out for him.
So...

I shoot as much and as accurately as I can against the people behind us.

In GAME: With your Phase pistol as your personel weapon of choice and the fact that you're driving I take it to mean that you're shooting as Ironman instead of Lt. John Doe. So...
Ironman took careful aim and fired three hypervelocity rounds at the lead hovercraft...
OOC: Since this is a PC under your personal control why don't you tell us what you did in story fashion like its done in the other games that this game is tucked in amongst. Remember J.D. is driving, Ironman is shooting. Other wise I'd be telling the whole story for you and that would suck. 
By the way there is no God mode in this game. But if you remember something else, you have RATO bottles hooked up internally for one quick and sudden jump to a new location perchance to their rear, after the initial shots you're about to fire, after they begin spraying out combat fog to hide their position once you and they are engaged in combat.

OOC: Ironman! You recall the RATOs that you and Nimrod installed for emergency maneuvering before leaving for the pickup of Tanner. It occurs to you that you could use that on whoever these characters in the HCs are. Since they haven't even identified themselves it would seem logical that they are probably hostiles. Oh sure, you could go ahead and go through the formality of calling them to identify themselves but their rate of overtaking you and the way their gun barrels are pointed in your direction...well...you take the hint.
Hint: FYI the RATOS (Rocket Assisted Take Off) are angled for jumping and taking advantage of Mars' lower gravity. Yes you can steer with them too. You can only use them once though.
I tried doing a Battle Map but it collapsed due to it ignoring the space bar use for width in the drawing. So...
S=space as in distance without any other objects in it.

Continued: Van DeCamp sends unit 3 and 5 in for a bracket manuever
towards your general direction while he heads for the Cargo Pod's
access hatch to do a little Knock-knock of the hard kind...

We've got to be at least one klik up the wall by now. Hell I'm
getting tired just watching you climb." Kato paused to check the Special
Cargo Container and its safety rigging, along with his own that tied
both to the Cyborg's back. "I have to admit, your choice of discretion
over a face to face confrontation, clears the way for us to hook up
with Alpha-16 and Tanner."
IC: AS Alpha-19 "While your idea of down loading your combat skills
into our two remaining units has merit for what I beleave should be a
very sneaky suprise for whoever is behind this scheme to acquire the CD
Canister.
IC: As Alpha-16 and Paul Tanner "Ok, meatman lets see if we've finished
the last of the cannibalism needed for one functional HC out of two junk
heaps." He'd just finished replacing the unit 1 motivator into the slightly
less damaged unit 2 motivator mounting frame.
"Ok Captain the board shows green all the way across."
"Light her up, Tanner. We need a ride out of here."
The motivator's Perendev motor began turning slowly at first, then with ever
increasing speed as the actuator rotated the all thread that in turn brought
three sets of armature ribs inward towards the magnet infested stator wheels.
Soon it was turning at a wopping six thousand rpm and revving three high
efficiency Searl Generators, each one putting out a wopping 12 million volts of
power.
"Yeah...I think we got ourselves a hot rod Nimrod," chortled Tanner.
"All right then, let's rock this boogie and go find us a fire fight!" bellowed
Nimrod. "Saddle up! You take helm. I'll take turret. Let's Rock and roll!"
The hover fans bit air as they increased speed and pitch. This as the hovercraft
skirts bellowed outward and rose off the ground by a few inches, raising the
hovercraft up. Tanner twisted the controls experimentally and swung the metal
beast around. They did a good repair job on it. He was certain of it now.
Tanner gunned it and they were off, heading for the erosion path.
Edit thanks I_H for the timely edits to the side scroll problem. It was becoming
a bit distracting.

OOC: Now, now. It's not the end of the universe, yet.
Hint: Instead of waiting for death, doom and despair, how's about a little jog over to the Cargo Pod? Ironman has the ability to gently toss you up to the top of the roof of the Cargo pod and he in turn can jump up to it as well. Hmmmm? While the bracket closes. You and Ironman can head back to the opposite end of the Pod along the roof and then take the leader's HC while he and his soldiers are inside. Gosh wasn't that exciting? Then there's the revived Dragoons inside the Pod for the Van DeCamp boys to face off with. Oh, my Stars and Garters! Come on, J.D. buck up buddy! You the MAN! You can do it! Ironman! Tell this sad sack that he's the man for crying out loud! Where's the team spirit!?

As JD stopped the vehicle ironman got off the turent and ran back down into the inner levels of the crawler and grabed his swords and pistol and ran by JD and grabed him "JD were going in for HTHC get ready! cause were going to take a far leap of faith!" Ironman says to him as he heads towards the controls and preps the assisst launchers for the jump.

OOC: Try saying "Tag: Ironman" at the end of your post, Zedd. What gun did you mention by the way? As I recall it was kind of like a phase pistol from S.T. or something like that? As for the jump, you're nearly out of jump juice from those RATO bottles. I'll allow a sufficient amount for a hop to the roof then that's it.
Ok how's about a little play acting it out, huh? Your guns inside the Crawler, are some "Willys" in the armaments box. Since the dust storm is over you can use them without endangering yourselves from dust born contact detenation. Have fun!
