Just had an idea for the next curry meet, kinda prompted by the work colleague who is coming to Southport on Sunday - I didn't realise where Anthony Gormley's "Another Place" was in terms of train station, aside for it being Crosby beach.
"Another Place" is very close (10-15 mins walk) to Waterloo station, which is about halfway between Liverpool and Southport. Waterloo also has a highly recommended Indian restaurant called the "Coriander", appeared in the Metro a while back, and people seem to rave about it.
The top arrow is Coriander, the longer arrow is the route from the station to the beach/statues. We can do a double-whammy here - have a curry night and also see the NW's answer (sort of) to Gormley's Angel of the North. By the time we have done Suzi's BBQ, we should be Gormley'd out lol - and seen both his Northern icons

Coriander
It's not open on Monday btw - so we'd have to do it on a weekend. Say a Saturday in early June, even the first weekend in June maybe?
http://www.corianderdining.co.uk/default.asp
The best plan for the day would be to meet in Liverpool limestreet, then head to the Liverpool based comic shops (Forbidden Planet and World's Apart) which are on the way to Central Station, then get the train going towards Southport. Get off at Waterloo, see the statues and then head up to Coriander for a meal. I can come back with you to Liverpool in early evening, maybe get a coffee there. Leave you at Limestreet then head back to Southport. In Merseyside region you can get a "ticket" called the "Saveaway" which is unlimited off-peak travel within Merseyside. It'll be all day on a Sat, so I have no probs going back and to
One of my work colleagues may come for some of this as well, but I'll let her know the plan and see what she thinks.
Plan?
Edit: Antony Gormley on "Another Place"
"According to Antony Gormley, Another Place harnesses the ebb and flow of the
tide to explore man¹s relationship with nature. He explains: ³The seaside is a good place to do this. Here time is tested by tide, architecture by the elements and the prevalence of sky seems to question the earth¹s substance. In this work human life is tested against planetary time. This sculpture exposes to light and time the nakedness of a particular and peculiar body. It is no hero, no ideal, just the industrially reproduced body of a middle-aged man trying to remain standing and trying to breathe, facing a horizon busy with ships moving materials and manufactured things around the planet."

Sounds cool, I've heard good things about The Coriander and I've wanted to visit Another Place too
Would the 2nd June be good for us?

Since we didn't do the 2nd of this month, how about the 2nd July?
It's a Monday and the day before my birthday. Wasn't sure we'd have the time to do something since CE is the week after and there will be a lot on. And I don't think there will be time to have a small meal with my closest friends down in London.
Would it be ok to meet in Liverpool?
