Hiya! This thread is information about the dinner part of the Awards Banquet. At the Banquet will be much food, door prizes and entertainment (The first two are being organized by the Pgh FanForce. The third, which includes the awards show itself, are being run by the lovely Strawbary)
PLEASE pay for your ticket in advance. Very soon a link to take you to a paypal account will appear in this space. We need to know how many people are coming so that the hotel will know how much food to make. Advance purchases of tickets are $25 per person. At the door (and there are a limited number of these) will be $30.
Here's what you get for your money:
Location: Radisson Hotel in Monroeville (attached to the ExpoMart, the location of Pgh ComiCon)
Time: Saturday, April 22. Doors open at 6PM, dinner is served from 6:30 - 8PM
Doorprizes: Everyone gets a ticket as part of the dinner package. Lots of neat SW stuff to be given away.
Buffet:
Tossed Garden Salad
Vegetable Medley Aioli
Southern Fried Chicken
Roast Top Round of Beef Jardiniere
Pasta in Marinara sauce
Chef's choice of starch
Chef's choice of vegetables
Rolls and Butter
Assorted Cakes and Pies
Coffee, Decaf coffee, and iced tea
Entertainment: Fun filled and amusing awards show.

The Official 2006 North East FanForce Awards Banquet
Hosted by the Star Wars Association of Pittsburgh
When: 6:00 p.m. to Midnight, Saturday, April 22, 2006
Where: 2nd Floor Hyatt Regency Monroe Room
Ticket Price: $25 pre-registration, $30 day of event (limited number of these available)
The $25 registration fee includes ballroom rental, taxes and gratuity, and food.
Registration:
Registration will begin for FanForce members as well as anyone and everyone else on friday. Registration for the event ends on April 7th so we can make the deadline to inform the hotel the number of guests attending.
Payment:
Payments will be accepted through PayPal and through money orders.

Getting in:
Your PayPal receipt is your ticket!
Show up to the Monroe room around 6pm. Once checked in you will be told what table you are sitting at along with a ticket to for the door prizes (tickets are limited to one per person).
If you pay by money order, you must send your name, address and city along with the money order so that when you check in at the table, we can verify your registration and direct you to the right table.
Security will be stationed throughout the event. No one will be allowed in without verification.
Your PayPal receipt is your ticket!
Food:
At 6:00 p.m., the buffet line will open and you will be invited up by table name. The buffet will remain open until 8:00 p.m. Food is on a first come first serve basis and will contain the following:

Coffee, Decaf coffee, and iced tea will be available. Alcoholic beverages are available at the bar. Alcohol is not included with the price of admission and may be subject to ID verification.
Extras:
- If by chance Star Wars celebrities attend there will be a strict no autograph policy. The stars will sign autographs all day at the Pittsburgh Comicon. This is also a party for them.
- We will be taking donations during the Awards Banquet for the Sago Mine fund.

I have some people asking and told them I would check and get back to them.
Some members are asking abou the dinner and are reading the following statement:
Food is on a first come first serve basis
Will the food be replenished or only available starting at 6. Some people are worried that some food will not be available and only go to a small number of people in line.

The food will be replenished, fear not. I warned the hotel catering folks that we were geeks at a convention and they are preparing. However, the buffet is being cleared away at 8PM, so its suggested that if you want to get a good selection and an opportunity at seconds (or thirds or whatever) then arriving earlier is better.
