So, Blue and I went to the Obama rally in Portland yesterday. They said about 75,000 were there. It was fun, but we couldn't see much other than the crowd.

Spent the past weekend with my son Lucas in Doernbecher Children's Hospital. He got his trache tube out and is doing very well. No more breathing assistance from machines, no more suctioning of stuff from his lungs, and his heart check up went very well. He's 14 mos, 24lbs 11oz, and ready to live life outside of his crib. We are very proud and happy of him.
Plus did a CCG/Kashyyyk Base visit at DCH to some very nice children needing a smile.

Awesome, that's good to hear. Hopefully all continues to go well.
I have been in Oregon on business the last few days, we're filming in Portland, doing some corporate work now, we have one more property in Milwaukee, OR to film and then we're headed to Eugene to film there, before going back down through Santa Cruz and California where we have about six more days of filming.

There's more drama here than any film project I've worked on thus far that's for sure, haha.
I just got done shooting a corporate training video for the food services division of an assisted living company. We had three days budgeted for the shoot, but we finished about 70% of the script in the first day, working around some scheduling nightmares in a very stressful day. We only worked a half-day today and finished off, but we knew that was the case. I changed the call time to 12 or 12:30 depending on the position, then we shot from about 1:30 to 4 and finished. It was pretty impressive, very efficient considering what we were doing had some level of complexity. It was the type of project where on the surface it seems easy, then you get into details and it seems hard, but then once you realize what you're doing it's pretty easy again.
I had fun on the project, overall, I was so tired the first day from the 20-day road trip we completed just the day before that I didn't really feel on my game as a director, but the crew was great and the actor and actress were great, so they helped pick me up. The training video is actually pretty funny, I threw in a lot of humor to the script when I was revising it (I didn't write it, but I revised and co-wrote with the food services director for the company), and the actor and actress added more humor on the shoot, which is what I wanted to do. The lead actor was really surprised that I wanted to make it funny, he thought that might be "dangerous," but it worked out well I think. Time will tell, as far as what the corporate guys think. I was happy with what we got, though, and I'm excited to edit it together.

Just picked up an old Ewok Village play set for my son (only $20). It has a couple of small parts missing, but it's almost complete.

Today I will be baking peanut butter cookies and selling t-shirts in order to earn some of my required community service hours.
I will also try my very hardest NOT to get sunburned in those five hours of doing nothing but sitting under a tent, being nice to people, and reading the X-Wing series.
Oh, the horror.
