So, did any of you see or participate in the Starlight Parade in Portland last night?
I was going to march in Jedi costume with Cloud City Garrison / Rebel Legion group, but I had to back out due to the fact gas prices here in KFalls hit 4.29 a gallon !! Gas plus hotel plus meals were just budget busting this year.

Yep. Rebels, Jedi, CLones, the Empire, and a very cool CorSec Officer. Tons of people. When I finally went to sleep, all I could hear was, "CHEWBACCA!!!!"
The Portland StarLight is a highlight for Cloud City Garrison, and Kashyyyk Base, and Garrison Titan. We have a blast and always please the crowd. Hope you all got to see us either live or on TV.
You were missed Lufta, we could always use another Jedi. Hope to see you there for next year's parade.
Did anyone record it? My dvr didn't work.

I do hope to make it next year! Looks like a great time and what fantastic way to promote all the good things the 501st and Rebel Legion do.

I participated! I was with my high school band last night! It was loud, especially with the drumline cranking up the sound.

That's awesome Jedigunship. All the bands were great. We need to be by a band that knows the Imperial march or the Main Theme to really boost the crowd and applause for both. www.kgw.com/video/index.html?nvid=250638&shu=1

I think the main theme would garner more applause, but if you have someone dressed up like Darth Vader in your group, then use the Imperial March. Two tracks that most people should know.

It was awesome last night! Eric is right.... all those spectators shouting "CHEWIE... it 's CHEWIE!" My favorite was that one fangirl out there shouted, "Chewie I want your baby..... call me!" or something along those lines.
That's for the praise, Eric, I think the CorSec Officer was a success. I was just keeping it Corellian. I am usually required to hang with the Imperials in recent parades, this time I got to hang with my Rebel (Corellian) brother and his sidekick. We had two Mara Jades.... it didn't dawn on me until Eric had said something that all of us Corellians were in in close pocket of the parade.
If you were in the parade, it was awesome. If you watched the parade, thank you. If you get the chance to join us next year, please do. We would love to have you!

I am soooooo bumbed that Blue and I could not march this years. We were planning, and even wanted to have our son march, but we had a major conflict. I am soooo bumbed.
By the way, it sounds like my son (age 8) could not have marched because he is under 12. Is this 12 year old and older rule new? I've seen plenty of kids under 12 in the parade in the past.

To my knowledge, this ruling went into effect last year.

He looks 12 to me.
