I must say, the motivation is a little tainted because of the nature of the election. A CR stepped down for unpleasant reasons and hasn't been heard of since, and now I'm supposed to put my heart into another election! So depressing!

Not only that, Larena, but there still would have been an election process, regardless of whether Colt had stepped down. Colt stepped down at the best time (if there ever is a good time for stepping down).
It is just like in real life. When people don't participate in elections, then they deprive themselves of finding out the real deal of their potential candidates.
I guess what I am getting at is to not make general assumptions about the candidates. Don't assume anything. If you want to know, ask the candidates questions and you will get the right answers. I just left one of my costuming groups because certain members kept making false assumptions about me without picking up a telephone or sending me a PM, or whatever to get the scope. There was a heated debate about an issue and when the smoke cleared three members ended up leaving the group - all for different reasons.
The point is that both Eric and myself want what is best for this group. And despite how I dealt with Colt, I did so as a fellow member looking out for his group. There wasn't any malice in my words, but simple honest truth. I suppose I could have been less harsh, and if Colt really did leave the group as a result, I do apologize. I still stand behind what I said. I do feel that it did need to be said.
One thing you have to know about me is that I hate when people stir up drama just for the sake of doing so. There are more constructive ways of boosting activity without going about the way that Colt did.
Another thing I despise is censorship of any kind. I have gone round and round with lots of moderators over the years about moderating posts. If I were elected, you won't get moderation of posts out of me, except for when it is absolutely necessary. And what you can count on is that I will definitely take up the issue with people in private. I will work with everyone. This is how I have always dealt with conflict resolution whenever I have ever had any kind of administrator position. Fortunately, I have never had to deal with any. People generally know how to treat each other with mutual respect.
I will always make the necessary time for this group, as much as is absolutely necessary to achieve the goals we set out to do.
Just some other nuggets of knowledge about me to chew over.

That's right... and by my count there is only what 12 people that have voted? I'm sure there are more people than that, more than 12 that are eligible to vote. So make this your group and exercise your rights in this group and vote for your new CR.

Well, as "the newb," right now, I don't really know if I'm that qualified to vote...
However, both candidates sound quite excellent, so it would definitely be a tough decision!
