Well guys, here's what I have so far:
Here's what the whole banner will look like put together (but larger cuz photobucket = teh sux):
The images are of Torrey Pines State Reserve in San Diego, Death Valley, Alaska's Gulkana Glacier, Mount St. Helens, and the Snake River, respectively. 
I gave up on a few things (like being able to put a palm tree for the curve, since finding a good picture of a palm tree without a colored background is hard. 
Thoughts?

Are you trying to steal my ideas?  I want a palm tree in the curve too.
Do you mind if I use a similar, or same idea as your's for the ad holders?

Here is my work in progress. I'm still working on adding more elements, cleaning up other ones and giving it a more 'professional feel' to it. Thankfully I've been able to finish splicing together my background from 31 pictures I took several weeks ago... so it should have a basic feel to it. Hopefully it has a "Pacific" feel to it even if I didn't put the text on it.
EDIT: I also need to refine the colours in the style sheet, but that can wait until I have all the colours I want in the actual graphics.

Where are the imgaes of locations other than the ocean hmmmm? After all not every one is lucky enough to live near water, or even trees in this region

True. However, I was having an issue with getting decent source photos, so I had to go out of my way to capture my own. Also, it is the Pacific Forum, so what says that better than the Pacific Ocean, even if we don't all live near it? I would have prefered adding more locations, maybe for the next one I do...

If you want I can get you some images for the general area I live from outside of town including the gorge area around the Columbia river and the more desert like surrondings of my general area
