Fund Raiser Project #1

Hey everyone,
In the Probation office in Hopkinsville, one of the probation officers has a 14 year old boy who is fighting his second bout with lukemia. He and his mother were going to walk in the Hopkinsville relay for life on Friday June 20th, but since he starts chemo on Tues. they won't be able to. I am trying to get more info, but would anyone, especially troopers, be available to march?
They are also trying to come up with ideas for fund raising to help offset the growing medical bills. Does anyone have any ideas? I would be willing to do the footwork to get maybe a saga weekend or an OT Sat in Hoptown somewhere set up if everyone is game. We can take donations at the door and profits from raffles and/or concessions go in also.
What does everyone think?

As an addendum, I spoke with the director of the Hopkinsville Public Library, Julie. She really liked the idea. She talked with their board of directors. The library would not be able to sponsor the event but they would allow use of their meeting room. similar to what we use here to do the event. She would even waive the fee they normally charge for the room. I was thinking a Sat OOT viewing. What does everyone think?

Did someone say "meeting" room? Hmmmm....
