	i'd suggest having a seance except it's soooo cliche'ed, and because w/all the stories bunny has told me about seances gone awry i'd only feel comfortable if the ouija board was tossed in a steel drum, filled over w/concrete, sealed shut and dropped into the depths of the ocean before performing any rituals. and even then, having a priest on standby for an emergency exorcism. -----signature----- Moved to www.phxff.net

	me being serious and non-jokey here... i would NOT be even comfortable being in the room if it's decided that a seance or ouija board is going to be thrown into the mix. jeff already knows how i feel on this so i won't elaborate further. i am hopefully baking a chocolate cheesecake and possibly other baked goodies... requests? i also have no problem helping decorate, $ for food, etc. whatever needs to be done. -----signature----- Facts: 1. 	Last year someone tried pulling out a Ouija board, it was loudly and immediately rejected as an idea. 	Well, I have an idea for a game, which is a Halloween-ish RPG game for any amount of players. You (or your character) are visiting a carnival/fair on Halloween night with a group of your friends (i.e. the other players) when a homeless-looking man goes tearing through screaming at the top of his lungs, "YOU'VE GOT TO GET OUT! THEY'RE COMING! YOU'VE GOT TO--!" Suddenly the power goes out, and when it comes back on the strange guy is gone along with most of the other people at the fair. You have two hours (game time or real time depending on how interested people are in playing and whether or not I suck as a GM) to figure out if there's something going on and to get out of the carnival (which is easier said than done ). Instead of hit points, everyone has sanity chips (the max amount being ten and you start with nine). This is more a puzzle oriented game than hack and slash (though you can create your own weapons which is highly encouraged), and you have to think your way out situations. If you can't think of a way out or you take too long, you give up a sanity chip (its kind of like you suddenly get hit with inspiration/divine knowledge and your character figures out something that you didn't). You lose all your sanity chips, you die (though death is not what it appears to be in this game). You do something really stupid, you die. Also, there will be several situations where sanity chips will do you no good and YOU have to think of a way out, or you die. I will have a map of the carnival/fair, but players would be smart to take notes and make notation because things are not what they seem (which is basically the theme of the game ). I could have a prize for the winner if that would intice people to play. This isn't something we'd have to start playing right away (it could be saved until people start getting bored or played instead of watching a movie for 2 hours). Does this sound interesting to anyone other than me? 	Oh that reminds me of something! What about a murder mystery game?? I think I saw one of the old ones they use to sell at Goodwill the other day. My parents use to have tons of them and we were allowed to play with the ones they already used with our own friends when I was younger. It's the brand that has Vincent Price on the box. It was so fun. (In fact we have a ton of them still in my mom's attic cause I wouldn't let her get rid of them, but sadly I cannot get them out until I visit for Xmas)...You had a character and costume ideas and everything. Granted people will already being coming in their own costumes, but the rest of it would still work... It stages the whole thing out and tells everyone what to do with their own characters(ie someone draws the character who is the killer), it says who died, clues, etc. for the rest of the players... and the players just have to follow along and figure it out... Anyone ever played one of these before besides me?? Something like that and LJC's game sounds really fun! It's been forever since I played one of these. I've never seen it. shocked i am! that's a good idea though...perhaps people can post on here their fave scary movies and ones they haven't seen but would like to... might give ideas for the party? Being a huge horror fan, there isn't much I haven't seen...including gobs of cheesy 70's and 80's B horror movies... FAVES: Watcher in the Woods Waxwork Nightmare on Elm Street Series (esp.1,4,5) Scream Trilogy The Faculty Friday the 13th Part 3 (originally in 3D) April Fools IT The Shining The Fog Silent Night, Deadly Night (1,2) Two more recent movies that were done very well: The Ring Final Destination Only movie that still scares me (ie I have a very hard time watching it alone and can not watch it in the dark): Witchboard And as for Ouija boards, purchased or not(and I've seen homemade boards before so Milton Bradley isn't the only one making them of course), but that isn't the point for me.
