Lifeday 2008 Planning thread

So who is going to be in charge of Lifeday this year? Michele?
Are we going to hold it at the Rec Center and get it catered? Or bring our own food? Or have it elsewhere?
Secret Santa? (I love Secret Santa) Games?
Formal dress? Costumes?

my votes go for rec center, catered, cheap grab bag gift, and nothing dressy. I'll be a month off of having a baby and probably in that wonderful in between stage where you're too small for maternity clothes but not quite ready for your regular clothes. But then again that's also assuming we come. I told Chris I'm not sure I even want to go b/c there's no way I'm gonna have a 3-4 week old infant sleeping all night and I probably won't want to go. Besides, I wouldn't feel right asking his mom to babysit so soon.

It looks like the Hawaiian theme is the one folks want. At the rec center. So, catered or covered dish?

We could always just covered dish it. Doesn't the Rec Center have a kitchen where we could heat things up? And since its inside, there would be plugs if folks brought crockpots and such.
By cover dishing it, it means no money needs to be collected. Which is always major pain in the . . . neck.

Yes, we'd have full kitchen access. And here's the thing too...Mad MEx has all kinds of wings and party platter stuff that can be picked up...right up the street! It's just a matter of deciding waht everyone would like eat.
