Hello Neighbor.
March 20th would have been the 80th birthday of Mr. Rogers. So on that day wear your favorite sweater and have a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I loved Mr. Rogers.
One of my coworker's roomate in college was Mr. Rogers' grandson. You should have heard this guy talking about meeting him. He's one of the most cynical guys I know, and he just melted when he met Mr. Rogers.

I’ve known several people who've worked with Mr. Rogers. Nobody has ever had a single bad word to say about him. I know many people who work in radio & TV and let me tell you. There is no shortage of bad talk about anybody in that business. That's why it's so unusual that nobody has a negative thing to say about the guy. He was truly a saint.
My across the street neighbor worked as a seamstress on the show. She made many of the costumes for the land of make believe and she said he was a pleasure to work with/for. The only slightly strange thing was that you could not talk to him before a show. He would get himself so into character before a taping that he was in another world.

Not only will I be wearing my special sweater and Mr. Rogers "you are special" shirt, I will also do the shoe-shuffle.
Wish they would have picked another date though. This week is crazy with St. Pat's and Easter. The 20th we are off work and the kids are off school, so I'm doing a week of activities for this after the Easter break.

Awh, wish I had read this earlier.
On the plus side, my son did request to watch an episode of Mr. Rogers before school this morning without even knowing it was a special day, so I guess we were thinking of him in our own way.
