Anyone catch that Trask was the name of that guy Revan has in his party on the Endar Spire for the first 10 minutes of KOTOR, before he sacrifices himself so you can escape Darth Bandon? This guy must be supposed to be related. Looks like him too. Same haircut, (different hair color).

That was Trask Ulgo, with Trask as a first name. This guy has Trask as a last name. No connection.

I liked the preview (except the "noob" thing) what i really liked is the name of the Joker Squad, hope we can see them in action! and the art isnt Duursema right?

if you are a Cade/jedi stuff fan this is just a filler issue!

and im sure there is people who like a stormie story than a jedi story

but Sauron_18 is right we were told that the stories will not only focus on Cade and i like that!

Is this the same Quarren Sith we saw in #1, or did that one die?

The Quarren Sith in # 1 looked dead to me.

Actually, I borrowed it from the title of a novel written by the guy who wrote the original PLANET OF THE APES novel (Pierre Boulez? My memory may be playing tricks on me.). i liked the sound of it and thought it would amke a nice SF reference.

As for earthly word mix -- lots of that in SW. Millenniun FALCON, for example.

There's a point to it in the context of the story. Our narrator is not called by his name or even as "trooper" by the other stormtroopers-- he's given no respect at the start. The others' treatment in the first panel is a form of hazing.

When you see it in context of the whole story, I think it may make more sense.

Close: Pierre Boulle, but a Google search for '"Pierre Boulle" Maleval' doesn't turn up anything.

I must say, a Quarren has never looked as cool as Maleval [face_mischief]

So, is this a part of the "Broken" arc, or is it a side-story? If so, what's it called?
(I'm really liking the dialogue, btw).

I'm inclined to agree, but "Full Metal Jacket" likely wouldn't have the same significance in the GFFA, what with magnetically-accelerated projectile weapons in common use. It would have to be something more along the lines of of "Star Wars: Full Tibanna Power Cell", or something like that.[face_thinking]

The question is, who are they fighting (and so much that attrition is so high)? The Sith-Imperial War eneded 7 yearss ago. Cant wait to see what combat looks like in 136 ABY! Also, the preview reminded me more of Platoon or Starship Troopers. Lastly, do we have another Janek Sunber in the making?

I wonder how he connects to the story arc ...

So are Wolf, Vao, and some old person just on the cover to look cool? Or do they figure into this stormtrooper story somehow?

Looking pretty cool. But I still need Legacy 2 to get here from tfaw. :_|

How come the stormies still have the same armor?

Well, some of the Joker's armor looks pretty banged up. Maybe all the stormtroopers upgraded, and they got leftovers from 150 years ago :p

You spelled it wrong though. At least here, to be truly insulting, it's 'n00b', not 'noob', which is completely different from 'newb'.

Are we gonna see Maleval actually 'crisp' anyone? I would love to see him in action. I think, in terms of looking like total BAMFs, the new Sith Order should be placed under Nihil's charge with Maleval as second-in-command

    Aye, good point.

    [face_laugh][face_worried]

Ah, that's interesting... I take it the author's a Frenchman? :p Thinking about it again, "Maleval" is not that bad... it's just that I pronounced it French, first, and that was rather ridiculous. :p

You're right, but still, I think we could get some more in-universe names for our total bad-guys in SW... [face_whistling]:p

Funny 'cause in a thread a while back, we decided Germanizing was the best way to pronounce Wyyrlok (veer-lok). Putting a different ethno-idio-phonetic spin on it sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. It's hit-or-miss.

How 'bout Darth Malomiente. Español for "really bad"

Actually that's 2 Spanish words fused together:

    Malo: Which means Bad

    and

Miente: Which is the Present Tense Form of the Verb "To Lie"

    [face_mischief]

Me malo, it'd just be Maliente. Despite my prodigious understanding of the grammatical rules, I find my vocabulary to have been kriffed ever since my Spanish class got dropped sophomore year. I just can't remember words.

Actually, Darth Maliente isn't too bad.

    Darth It's Bad To Lie?

Sounds like one of those Good Sith people have been hoping for.

[face_thinking] I think a Seseme Street/Star Wars crossover just got alot more plausible

I wonder if Carida is a loyalist world, since Yinchorr is under Sith control.

Anyway, dislike the use of "noob" (sorry John), not a fan of the art, and not a fan of the stereotypical maverick soldiers. Give those guys a haircut, dammit.

    Cool Sith though.
