    All right after reading every single one of Kevin J. Anderson's novels again I've been agrivated badly by the fact that the Empire can't win! Some of the examples are when in Dark Apprentice I think it was ohhhh look its Kyp Durron in the invincible super weapon lets not attack Courscant and lets try to attack it. Its just stupid. Then in Darksaber their are three examples. One: Daala decides she will not attack Courscant but will go after 12 stinkin Jedi! Two: Pelliean shows up attacks but ends up getting super-dupor force-pushed into the next century! Three: Daala shows up and instead of bombarding the temple with turbolazer blasts she has to worry about one TIE bomber carrying her doom. But its not only in KJA works in the Last Command Thrawn dies by getting stabbed. He seems unstoppable but he dies by getting stabbed? Why do the Rebels always have to win? It makes for boring and forgettible books. Thoughts?

    Well, we've had them win in Legacy. I mean the Sith beat them after the victory, but they still won.

    Then the galaxy would be enslaved, the heroes would die, and evil would reign forever.

    Yes, notable Imperial victories are spread through out the Thrawn Trilogy, Daala's Blitzkreig in Darksaber, and more.

    This would actually be a legitimate complaint if it was about the Seps.

    But yeah, the Imps win plenty.

    They won the Battle of Jaabim I point out.

    Also the battle where they blew everyone from orbit.

    I just laughed my ass off upon reading this thread, considering I was just reading the other thread where the guy's complaining about how the good guys never win in SW.

    Yeah, I had to check this one out because of the "Good guys never win" thread.

    So we have....

    Why do the good guys never win?
    Why can't the Empire just win once.

    It solves the riddle of another thread "Is the Empire that bad."

    Good != Always losers
    Empire != Always losers
    Empire == Good

    Sweet.

    That's a faulty syllogism, obviously.

    I never said Gilad won all the time. But those are 4 victories for the Empire, which the thread-starter wanted.

    Your beloved Emperor was betrayed and murdered, the fleet panicked and scrambled, a legion of the Emperor's finest troops were pwned by teddy bears with rocks, the very expensive Death Star II was destroyed, and the Rebels lost a few fighters and a small capship or two. How is this a victory for the Empire? Or is the propaganda just so thick on your side?

    The Empire had the rebels beaten. The only reason for the counterrevolutionary victory was Lord Vader's treachery. :p
