Krayt can't be Obi-wan's kid, unless he had him already some 20 years before. Since he gets into a BATTLE in the WAKE of the CLONE WARS.

I am REALLY thinking it's HETT now.

 

This is one I did not see coming, but I'm glad to see Obi-Wan back even if it's only for a few issues. When I 1st read that I tried to guess what it meant. Love child sticks out a lot. The whole confronation with Hett sounds reasonable-but I don't see how it would affect his "legacy". The Suspence! I don't know which issue I'm more looking forward to now, #15 or this one

 

I said Krayt = Kenobi from the beginning....

On a serious note, this could be very, very interesting....

I'm LOVING the picture too.

 

Somebody should give DH a medal for being so active in recycling - ideas. Now it is apparently the Mustafar fight that we will see fought again between Obi-wan and Hett. Will Obi-wan have the higher ground this time? It really seems that DH is trying to make Hett another Anakin Skywalker, like DR is making Jacen Solo to be their new Anakin Skywalker.

 

How about we read the issues first, ok?

Yes, but it is a farce the second time.

I do not think it will be farce, seriously, but there seems to be a clear lack of new ideas in EU. And now that it has been mentioned, this fight could not just be derived solely from ROTS, but also from the Tales story with Maul. ROTS+Maul story = Legacy 16.

 

Why?

All it says is that Obi-Wan faught a "lonely battle" and the outcome would shake the GFFA.

How do we know that he doesn't fight a "lonely battle" to save some hot tattooine cave girl from marauders, the outcome of which is a night of heated passion, which leads to the birth of Krayt - who goes on to rock the GFFA?

Jeeeeeez.

 

Hot Tatooine cave girl? Not with his luck. But perhaps some female Jawa...

 

No dude, he'd be great, all: "You want to take me home and then rethink your intial rejection" with a bit of "this is the lay you're looking for" thrown in for good measure

 

That was the first thing on my mind - too many years in the fanfic community - but then I actually thought about it...

 

QFT. The fanfic community is forever giving Obi-Wan children.

That said, I can't wait...John and Jan are certainly really good at drawing people in...

The only problem I see with the whole 'someone-else-knows-about-Luke' thing is that it is hard to fit in with the OT, since I don't think that Obi-Wan could have risked anyone ever knowing about Luke-Padme-Vader/Anakin bar those that could absolutely be trusted. (ie. Yoda, Bail and himself). (and the fact that Emperor Palpantine visited Korriban during his reign)

I knew there was a reason Obi-Wan was perfecting that Krayt Dragon impression all those years.

This is possibly the best plot twist to come from Legacy since K'Kruhk.

Oh wait. That was only last month.

Good one...

 

Obi-Wan's impression has been retconned into Boga

 

Cover is great in that Obi's face looks like a perfect amalgam of Ewan MacGregor and Alec Guiness. Depending on how you look at it, it can look like either of them. I'm not convinced Obi-Wan's story will necessarily have anything to do with Krayt's origin, but we shall see.

Edit: of course, the arc's title "Claws of the Dragon" would seem to suggest both Krayt and Tatooine's Krayt dragons themselves, wouldn't it? Perhaps Darth Krayt is the bastard child of Obi-Wan and a Krayt dragon?!?

 

This series really sucks

I'm really going to have to reserve judgement until Legacy #15 comes out.

But I will state here and now that Krayt being Hett would severely diminish this series for me. Its good enough to not warrant a silly revelation, and a fanmade one at that.
I'm hoping its a newer character, and one who comes about because of this lonely battle that Kenobi fights.

 

I knew it, Obi-Wan is Darth Krayt!

I vote for the Kenoba-Ventress Love Child idea.

 

It amazes me how after so many months and months of Legacy speculation and discussion, DH can still completely surprise us with something so awesome. I mean- an Obi-Wan cover, and a fantastic one at that- the comment about it being a perfect mix of Ewan MacGregor and Alec Guinness is spot on. Is there anything this series doesn't have?

The issue doesn't go on sale for another three months and we have people talking like it's already come and gone.
