To celebrate International Star Wars Day (4th May). Select cinemas across Australia and New Zealand will be holding a Star Wars Saga marathon on the 3-4 May weekend.

On the first day, Episodes I-III will shown while Episodes IV-VI will be shown on the day after. The session times and locations are yet to be announced across the country but this first page will be updated as more information is known.

This be a great opportunity for us to hang out with friends again and enjoy the films on the big screen again before ushering into the new era next December with the first film in the sequel trilogy.

    What say you? :)

Pass. I have trouble enough sitting through one movies these days, let alone three.

Yes, I deny the existence of the filth that isn't (oh snap) Eps 1,2 and 3.

I'm sure they'll have brief intermissions like they did with the Dark Knight Trilogy screening the other year.

If the intermissions are 24 hours long, I could do that.

If the tickets can be bought for the individual films rather than three on one or if the films are spaced out over a few days at some places...

Hmmm… hopefully we will be getting more information soon.

I think I will have my own marathon at home, the chairs are comfier here anyway.

That, and I'm 6 hours away from a decent cinema complex.

Hoyts has officially confirmed that all of their cinemas are doing it in NSW. Can't get ticket pricing though but could be similar to what you have in SA, Kooky.

Event Cinemas in NSW are doing it too, not all of Hoyts are screening it. Session times are 12:30pm and cost is roughly $25 per marathon with $1.10 online booking fee. Can't find on the Event Cinemas site about the costs to see the individual films.

For the NSW side of things, I know that a few of us are going to the George St cinemas. Final numbers not worked out yet but I recommend booking tickets as soon as you can as they are going fast. Especially for the Original Trilogy screening.

Got tickets for one of these in Perth for the Original Trilogy on Sunday.

Now tempted to get tickets for the Prequels on the Saturday.

I must be going demented with age.

It doesn't look like our local cinema in Kalgoorlie is screening it, so I'll stay in and watch it with the younglings.

I am glad you both had a great time!!

I went to both screenings and that was an amazing experience which I really hope will be repeated again or more events like this for years to come.

I loved all of it. Apart from watching it with a large crowd and with friends, the highlight for me was experiencing the original trilogy on the big screen for the first time. Not to mention that special message from Dave Filoni was an unexpected surprise.
