*deciding to discontinue waiting for his dueling partner to return, approaches a familiar Knight of the NJT and offers a respectful nod*

Perhaps the presence of a pair of dueling Jedi will magnetically draw your Sith companions to the arena as well.

*folds and lays his dusty robe upon a nearby crumbling pillar and then crouches down to rub some loose soil into his palms for improving his saber grip*

Perhaps are saber sparing will attract the attention of the Sith. If it does, at least there will be two of us.

Sparring Arena

Rhythmically rubbing his palms together, Ananta momentarily closes his eyes to connect to the Living Force prior to the duel when suddenly he felt the Force presence of his friend and former sparring partner Alisha departing the planet. He then recalled vividly what had transpired just prior to his encounter with Kato Sai…

Immediately after Alisha emerged from her skirmish with the Mandalorian, she had slumped to the ground beside him, apparently unconscious. Their new ally, the noble skull-helmeted bounty hunter, had quickly detected and removed a tranquilizer dart from her neck and assured him that its affect would only be temporary. Thankfully Alisha had finished-off the Mando before the dart’s drug had taken hold.

Their new warrior companion had then declined an employment offer from the she-Hutt and had chosen instead to return to his home world, and with new purpose. Before disappearing behind a holographic veil in her skybox, the Hutt had emitted a jubilant chuckle at the sight of Alisha facedown in the arena and in the next moment she and her entire entourage were nowhere to be seen, apparently exiting by some unseen passage.

As Alisha awakened, the warrior offered to transport her back to her ship, via his winged-mount, to which Ananta readily agreed. She would be fine, and he decided to stay behind and see what other sparring opportunities might present themselves.

The entire memory had rushed through his conscious mind just as he had brushed-off the excess dust from his hands. He mentally reached out to Alisha through the Force wishing her well on her onward journey and then returned his awareness to the situation before him.

Igniting his jade blade and raising it vertically in front of his face, he bowed the tip downward in Kato’s direction to respectfully initiate the duel. Moving mindfully over the loose saffron colored stones in a counterclockwise direction, he draws his saber back over his head and extends his free hand with two fingers pointing towards Kato.

Retaining a portion of his attention within, Ananta attempts to center himself in the Force so as to allow it to more fully guide his subsequent moves. At the same time he passively observes Kato’s footwork, sword movements and the focus of his gaze.

Kato sensed that his sparing partner was saturated by the Living Force. Then thoughts began to fester in Kato's own head, memories that were no his. Could this be what Ananta was feeling? Who was this Alisha? Kato shook the thoughts from his mind and engaged his fellow Jedi in the duel. The saber rose above Kato's head for a Falling Leaf, the length and width of the blade seemed to increase as the motion was made. Kato knew his first move would be parried, but he did not mind, this was a duel between brothers, not enemies.

Main Sparring Arena

The aged arena lay silent save for the soothing hum of two Jedi saber blades. Row upon row of deteriorating stone seats encircled the venue and the two Knights below. A thin veil of grey clouds gradually blanketed the sky above them and a few sprinkles of rain began to fall.

Raising his blade in a deflecting sideways slash, Ananta eluded Kato’s opening move while subtly sensing that the fellow Jedi was not drawing from his full reserve of offensive might, and instead was cultivating trust between them, which he respected.

Allowing the momentum of his parry to continue, Ananta swept low and did a full 360 degree spin, turning on one heel, culminating in a crouching mid-thigh strike directed towards Kato’s left leg.

IC: Draconis

Day had turned to night, and the light of the sun which once warmed the stone floors and pillars that surrounded them, now turned to a cold yet luminous embrace as the moons of the system slowly ascended across the black sky. Heavy hearts and minds had exchanged words and glances on this evening. Feelings... hah... understanding... hah... For a Sith was this not weakness? Was it not necessary to drive a dagger through such weakness, and then climb to the top of the pile! Right?

No... Fate and understanding defined these moments. The one thing that the master assassin and Sith lord had learned was that strength and weakness are not defined by others...they are defined by the individual and their actions. Was that not strength? Was that not the a true fiber of power? Control, will, direction... and understanding... the ability to make a choice was true power. To break through chains, redefine the present and plow through the future with it. Each one of them could have easily killed each other. Whomever had wished it... whomever had taken the initiative. The crown and throne .. theirs to do with as they please figuratively. All of them were beaten, suppressed, and battered, despite this and thus more importantly they were changed. What were they now? Whatever label assigned it mattered little, they had found one another. Looked in each others eyes and now were walking away with understanding.

Draconis' Master subtle smile pierces him more than any wound inflicted upon him. Anger and hatred permeate emotions that rise up in the Sith, yet understanding trumps all. Loyalty, respect, and honor... Was their honor among Sith? Through sheer will power it seemed that their was. If his Lord Vassago had asked Draconis would have fallen on his blade without hesitation, likewise had the great Gen Dai asked to bleed with Draconis and sacrifice all. Draconis would have gladly marched along side with the Sith Lord to certain death. And despite his absence the feelings and connection with Lord Nemisis was present, and again the master assassin recognized another Sith whom he would offer his soul to.

“A new dawn approaches, my brothers... A new age. One we shall face together.”The word were genuine and that was all Dracnois needed. With their time together having come to a close. The pebble had been cast, marking the beginning of the wave that would build. How fast or large, remained to be seen. As the Lord Vassago moved out of site, retiring for now... this much was evident. That they were all stronger than ever, cloaked and patient. No matter what the distance they would be with each other constantly, bonded like non-others before them. Sharpened and focused like non-others. Merely waiting.

As the Lord Vassago fades into the shadows, Draconis knows no words...he knows that his master understands him. The most subtle of nods as Draconis' eyes close and his body clenches with a large long heavy sigh, not of sorrow or dismay. But of gratitude and pride as his fists clench slowly at the sight of his master disappearing. Feelings of pride and a bit of joy course through his body and mind, as the thoughts of what has transpired sink in. Draconis' lips curl subtly and as he clenches his teeth with a slight smile showing. All due to the joy in regards to the anticipation of what is to come!

A long relaxed breath is drawn in by Draconis, as he turns to Darth Cruor. "Brother." is all that Draconis says as his hands fold together coinciding with a nod. Draconis steps backwards, his shoulder slinking back smoothly as he recluses himself to the shadows and thus disappearing as quietly as he appeared. This was merely only the beginning, the preamble to a different chapter and new dawn. It was clear they would be guided and drawn towards each other. To which end was obviously yet to be seen, though there was little denying...

These Lords of the Sith were not done yet...

Darth Cyn climbs off the ground and stares at his would be opponent, "foolish jedi, they never take put their enemies when they have the chance".

He calls upon the force and dashes towards his opponent "I know how these jedi fight, always striving towards non-aggression, that's why I left, and that's why this jedi will fall".

As he rushes at his opponent, a tug of force energy pulls his lightsaber to his hand, it's time to battle.

Darth Cyn stares at his sparing opponent, "foolish jedi" he thought "they never take their chance to strike down their enemies".

Using the force, he flips his lightsaber from his belt and activates it.

Again drawing on the force, he dashes at his jedi opponent.

*Kato continues his cadence with Ananta, when he notices out of the corner of his eye Darth Cyn approaching at a impressive pace. He barely avoids the low strike of Chatan when Cyn is within saber distance.*

Beware brother! The Sith have come!

*Kato quickly engages the Sith Lord, his emerald blade crackling as it meets the ruby red beam of the enemy.*

Sparring Arena

Disengaging from the melee, Ananta takes several steps back, well out of harms-way, to observe the the confrontation. Kato and Cyn had previously partially initiated a duel prior to his arrival, so out of consideration, he remained poised yet passive, deactivating his saber. Unless called upon, he would remain a spectator to this match...and perhaps keep an eye upon their immediate surroundings as well.

OOC: Are there two Darth Cyns? Maybe a twin brother? (see double post above)

Ah, that's different, eh Jedi, going fully aggressive right at the start? Fine then, however, I warn you, I was trained to kill my opponent without mercy, hesitation, or remorse, be on your guard.

*Blocks Kato's attacks and jumps back assuming the opening stance for Juyo*

Come Jedi, meet your destiny, why don't you go ask your friend over there for help, you may need it if you wish to survive.

Strong are you in the Dark Side...

*Turns to Jedi Knight Ananta*

It will take the two of us to defeat him.

*Settles in Ataru Stance, holding saber upright and close to the shoulder*

Shira walks in and jumps up on a rafter beam, looking down at the proceedings with great interest, noting the activity the dusty old arena has picked up of late as she watches curiously.

 

IC: Ananta Chetan

Abandoning his spectating position, Ananta purposefully approaches the opponents as they begin to engage one another, observing the great polarity in their respective relationships with the Force.

Cyn, you are a bold one, even for a Sith. Bursting into the arena with such gusto and confidence.

Ananta studies the expression and intuitively observes the thoughts and emotions of Cyn as he hears his words, then releases his singing green blade into the arena air.

Perhaps Kato also failed to mention, as one legendary Jedi once said... that Sith Lords... are our specialty.

Does a pinpoint accurate and well-practiced Force-push on the de-activation button of Cyn's lightsaber.

*Kato taking the advantage that Ananta has created, uses the Force to send a shockwave towards Darth Cyn while simultaneously charging behind the blast to strike with his saber*

If a force duel is what you want, a force duel is what you will get!

*Cyn dodges the Kato's attack and kicks him in the chin, turning towards the jedi, he motions his arm in his direction and sends lightning forth from his finger tips, sending the jedi flying into a back wall. Turning towards Ananta, Cyn flips into the air, aiming for an upward vertical strike*

You jedi should know the sith are not dispensed so easily!

Standing firmly and looking skyward, Ananta draws his attention within to the Living Force, allowing it to saturate his awareness to such a degree, that time seems suspended. The descending Sith Lord appears as if in slow-motion, with his crimson saber brandished high above his head like a sledgehammer in the indigo arena sky.

He can feel the anger and hatred rippling through the Sith’s Force presence, like a raging surge of dark thunder suppressed just beneath his skin, an animal like lust for suffering and destruction motivating his every action.

Taking a two-handed grip on his emerald blade, Ananta coils his strength to absorb the blow of the dark one. Their clashing blades echo throughout the arena, and for a moment, they look directly at each other as they stand face to face with their blades crossed before Ananta uncoils his strength and pushes his attacker back, just beyond blade’s reach, but still facing each other.

Over Cyn’s shoulder Ananta sees Jedi Kato on the move again. Returning his gaze to the Sith he addresses him in a calming voice...

How did the Order fail you, dark one? Do you ever really foresee finding any sort of true fulfillment following your current path? The seeds of honor and serenity still lie within you.
