Well I was in Metropolis this weekend and I did the Superman 4 mile road race. I finished it around 40:10. I was hoping for under 40:00 but it's still a personal record for this race for me. Maybe next year.

Probably won't do the Lunar 5K this weekend. Mrs Jedimika doesn't want to go all the way to Etown for a 5K plus when I drove through on my way to and back from Metropolis they're doing work on I65 around that area and have it down to 2 lanes on each side. Really don't feel like messing with it if I don't have to.

Well, I haven't finished a 5k in under 40, so a 4 miler at 40:10 is pretty awesome to me.
Been getting back into running mode, but haven't gotten farther then three clicks before I start walking. Then the heat showed up, so I have been working out indoors at the Y.
Ms. Jammies wants to do a five k soon, so we will keep our eyes pealed.

Okay here are some upcoming 5K's on my radar.

Saturday July 12 (this weekend) Johnny's 5K Memorial Race. this is a real pretty race run along the river on the Indiana side. Start is at the Falls of the Ohio. I have to work Saturday but not until 1100 so I could do this. I'm not sure with all the construction if I know how to get to the Falls now. I used to always take exit 0. Is it still open?

Saturday July 19 Lunar 5K Louisville. I'm visiting some people that day but since it's an evening race I could make it. Start is at Papa Johns Stadium at 2030.

Wednesday (yes mid-week) July 23 St Matthews Mid-Summer's Night 5K Run. Yes another evening run. Might be fun to do.

Did the Johnny's 5K this morning. Nice and flat, just up along the river and back. Not too hot but the humidity by the river was killer. Made it just under a half hour...about 29:57. I wish I wouldn't have had to run off to get ready for work, they had some good door prizes and it was a small crowd so my chances would have been good.

Not too bad a picture of me from this morning. It was at the end of the race so you can see I'm pretty flushed from the heat but I'm still showing off that Star Wars love!

I ran from the couch to the kitchen when the microwave went off today. Does that count for anything?

Well August isn't looking too good for me. All the races I want to do happen on days I'm doing something else (like working). But if anyone else is interested there are some good ones coming up.

Chocolate 5K Saturday August 9. Yum chocolate! Plus it's not timed so feel free to walk this one.

Toys For Tots Poker Run Tuesday August 12. Jammies and I did this one last year and it was a lot of fun. Very laid back. No race bibs or Tshirts but cheap to participate...just bring a new toy. Plus there were a lot of good post race door prizes from sponsors. I wish I didn't have to work that night.

Colon Cancer 5K/Walk Saturday August 23. Never done this one but its at Iroquois Park which is always nice.

I'm not (yet) in my typical running shape --- but the toys for tots run is run.
In September, there is going to be a 5K for TapWater; and I think that one goes across the walking bridge. Ms. Jammies and I are hoping to do that one. Unless it happened in July. In that case, we won't (the Delorian is in the shop).

The Gaslight Festival 5K is coming up Tuesday night Sept 16. I don't know why I like this one so much, I just do. I have off that day so weather and my health permitting I'll be there.

Appo's run from last year that I bailed on, the Home Run 5K for the Home of the Innocents, at Bernheim Forest, is October 25th this year...and of course in falls on a weekend I'm working. But I hope some of the rest of you will meet up for this one.

Oh, it is at the WT. No, I think we are still doing this. What might change my plan is that I havne't gotten into running form all summer. I better start one of those couch to 5k programs before the 6th.Not this weekend though, man, hawt.

Gas Light should be something I can do-- it is fun to run with buds, and then watch those same buds fly past you on the last leg of the race :)

    GOOOO JAMMIES!

Mrs jedimika was training for a mini for labor day weekend and ended up straining and inflamming her IT band (tendon from the hip to knee I think). She starts physical therapy next week. She's allowed light running if it doesn't hurt so she should be good by the Gaslight.

Physical therapy is going well although the therapists seem to enjoy inflicting pain (they should all be Sith Lords according to the wife). They won't allow running for right now but she plans to be at the Gaslight to support and cheer us on...and hopefully be waiting at the finish line with a cold one for me.

    Well if she can't run.
Will she appear as wonder woman again?
That should cheer you on to a new speed record...

We will try to be there as well; but we also still have invites to mail (and print, and make, etc).

Anyone interested in the Highlands 5k? Oct 4, at 8:00am. Early for me, that is for sure-- but it also is right in my backdoor and apparently sponsored by my church.

Best of luck to all of us who run today.
