Star Wars Treasures of the Past [Closed SW RP]

The Jedi got up and placed a credit chip on the table as a tip. For those who notice, it was quite a tip indeed. He then turned and walked out of the restaurant, turning right out the door back toward the spaceport. As the party falls in behind him outside the door, he slows to walk beside the others, but still slightly ahead so still to lead them. "I'm sorry to inform you that I know nothing of the feather you were referencing and I am quite certain I don't recall anyone I know on NarShaddaa having or talking about them. As per your story, they must be pretty important and I would think I would know if someone had one or at least they would use it as decoration and I have seen nothing even similar. As I said back at the restaurant, I'm sure someone at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant could help, but certainly nobody I know on NarShaddaa." He put special emphasis on 'I' implying that there could be people on NarShaddaa who might know, but nobody he knows, likely including the other Jedi on NarShaddaa.

As he led the party through the streets, they became slightly more crowded as they neared "The Duel", but 2 blocks before he reached it, he turned and stepped on one of the larger, better looking elevators. On the way up to the surface and afterward walking toward the spaceport again, he said nothing, leaving the air open for questions or comments.

 

Reno noticed the credit chip, and simply could not resist his natural inclination to swipe it when he thinks no one else is looking before he follows the party out of the restaurant.

 

Dew followed patiently and let his stomach settle. then he asked "where are you from sir?"
he had never met a jedi before and was curious about him.

 

As Etog observed the proceedings, he noticed Reno going for the chip and flicked him between the eyes. "Control yourself. "

 

Etog entertained the idea that someone might steal the credit chip the Jedi left on the table and what he might do to them if they did, but Reno's swift hands took it without even Etog's suspicion.

As the elevator rose, the Jedi looked at Dew after he asked his question with an almost knowing smile. "I am from Coruscant." he said, "I was born there to a rich family heavily involved in the government, even if they were not working for the Empire. I was, however, taken in by the Jedi at a very young age. Despite my time away from my family," he continued as he stepped off the elevator and continued towards the spaceport, "I have remained in contact with them and largely followed in their footsteps, doing mostly negotiations in the interest of peace. The Jedi assist the Empire in keeping the peace, with each Jedi using their skills to do what they can. The patience and discipline it requires to use the force the way the Jedi Code requires is useful in many other disciplines as well." He gave a small chuckle and looked ahead as they approached a crowd near the spaceport, "Of course, having control of the Force has it's own benefits as well."

The crowd they approached wasn't very big, only around 20 people or so, but it was very busy. Many of the people had cameras and it seemed there was at least one reporter there. In the middle of the group stood Josk, the guard who had helped the party on the Nimgual. With all the people and lights, it was difficult to see him clearly, but it was enough to tell it was him. The Jedi watched the faces of the party members as they saw what was before them.

 

Etog stays behind the media crews and observes the proceedings, making sure to stay out of camera sight.

 

Mowlu brings up the rear, and notices the crowd. He obviously tenses up slightly at the sight of so many holonet crews. Unfortunatly there's nothing he can really do to hide his height, so he simply observes the going on while watching for any threats and to keep the young Dew inline.

 

Dew gets excited and nervous when he see the camera crews. when he notices josk he immediate gets even more excited and tugs on mowlus arm saying "hey! thats josk!! holy crap how did he survive?!?!"

 

Reno stops short of the spectacle, points at Josk, and says "well! you wanted to know if there was another survivor! There is one right there."

 

The Jedi watched the group as they saw who was in the middle of the group. After Reno's comment, he smiled and said, "I thought so. Please excuse me for a moment.". He walked away toward the crowd.

As the party remained, watching the group and the departing Jedi, it became clear with time what was and had happened in front of them. As people moved about, it revealed Josk's true state. He was heavily burned and seemed to be favoring one leg. Around his shoulder hung a leather strap holding up a small cylinder with a tube coming out the top, running into Josks arm. It was Bacta, the life healing miracle of the galaxy and had saved Josk's life. That little bacta tank wasn't what healed him so far, he had to have been in a large, full-size bacta tank for the last few hours given all the healing that had been done. There was a slight look of pain on Josk's face, he didn't look like someone who wanted to be standing there. The reason he was standing there, though was standing right behind him.

A large man, in an all black, mostly leather outfit with a shaved head stood with one hand on Josk's shoulder. He had a very proud look on his face as if he had just won a trophy. He was obviously the captain of a salvage ship. Salvage crews are the unsung (and largely ignored) heroes of the galaxy, doing the dirty work and cleaning up space all while turning a profit. It's not a famous job and it doesn't pay well for the most part, but finding a survivor in the wreckage of an unknown ship in deep space is the holy grail of the trade. And that is exactly what this man has done. So he stood, enjoying his 15 minutes of fame with his in-pain trophy.

As the party watched, and their understanding of the situation grew, the Jedi appeared among the crowd next to Josk and his rescuer. "Alright, that's enough, lets let this man get some much needed rest," the Jedi said with a wave of his hand. All the holo-recorders and lights shut down as his hand moved through the air and the news crews and others in the crowd gave a unison awww. But, nonetheless, they turned away slowly and left, departing in all directions. As the crowd dispersed, the Jedi put his hand around the back of Josk and supported him as he limped slightly. They moved over toward where the party was standing with the Captain following. Josk kept his head down, mostly paying attention to his body and where his feet went, but as he approached them, he raised his head and his eyebrows went up with it. "You. . . How?" he whispered, but was too tired and too bewildered to continue.

 

Dew does a small dance of excitedness, since he was so elated to see josk survived. he was also very excited to tell josk about what happened, so he started telling him... in his native tongue! he was moving and waving his arms exuberantly as he described what happened after they last saw josk. a few sentences in Mowlu bopped him on the head saying something about dew being an idiot and he might take someones limb off if he isnt careful... or something like that.

 

Reno stared at Dew, somewhat embarrassed by the spectacle that the wookie was creating; but, Reno was otherwise content to observe the situation for the time being.

 

Mowlu quickly rounded onto Dew as he started to ramble on. "You kriffing fool!!! Making a damn hutt of yourself. Cut the bloody mynock muffins!" He cuffs the younger wookiee as he turned to make sure the holocrews left and no one else lingers behind.

 

Etog looked at Josk, appraised him and gave him a smile in greeting. "Glad to see you are among the living."

 

The Jedi watched the reactions of all of them and asked the question they all wanted to know. "Tell us the story of the destruction of the Nimgual and how you escaped." Josk looked at the Jedi and the party before recounting the events. His recount was fairly short and scattered, he was still in a state of shock about the event and the trauma likely did a lot to his memory of the event. His telling included the distress call, the figures wielding lightsabers, though he called them Jedi, not Sith, and the party's help in fighting some enemies. Much beyond that, though, there wasn't much, as he had a difficult time remembering specifics up to that point. However, at the point the party had left, he remembered more clearly. He recounted the events. After the 2 Wookies, the Zabrak with the bionic arm, and the human turned to run, he found himself faced with an advancing wall of explosions. He happened to be standing next to the weapons room that the others had just retrieved their weapons from and he jumped inside. He pressed the button for the door to shut. The explosion of fire entered the room, but was quickly shut off by the door. It had been too late by that point, though and that was where all the burns on his body came from. Between the force of the explosions and the fire, he passed out only to be awaken a while later in the salvage ship. As he told the last part, the captain of the salvage ship, who was still standing behind Josk, puffed his chest out even more, though somehow it didn't seem possible.

There was silence after Josk finished telling his story. He had gotten caught up in it as he told it, but now his pain and tiredness seemed to come back to him. However, despite his discomfort, he was still interested in the others, "How did you survive?" he asked, looking at the party, with a brief, but quizical look at Dew before turning to the others.

 

Dew was already typing quickly into his datapad. he wanted to tell josk everything, but knew he would be slow because of the language barrier, so he just told him "we stole onto a ship that was docked. i think it was the invaders ship."

 

Reno was analyzing Josk, but only Josk... he was also interested in his so called "rescuers". Reno took a moment to explain that they had escaped the ship and made it to Narshadaa on another vessel, which he himself had piloted. Although, Reno had believed that they Nimgual had been destroyed, and was quite surprised that Josk survived the explosion at all. He was further surprised that there was anything left of the Nimgual to find. Reno took some credits and gave them to Etog discreetly, and requested that Etog find a place for them to get some sleep and escort Josk there, quietly suggesting that they could all use the rest, but especially Josk. Josk could then be questioned when his condition improved. Reno also suggested to Josk that he comply with the suggestion of "rest now, talk later." Reno then took a few steps forward, approaching the captain of the salvage ship and asked "so how did you find any wreckage of the nimgual? I believed the ship to have been completely destroyed."

 

As Reno did this, he analyzed the Captain, and any of his crew who were there, with a scrutinizing eye. He felt something was out of place, but he had no proof, and he knew it. So he looked for the proof, proof that he wasnt getting the whole story.

 

Mowlu continues to watch the events unfold as he keeps guard... and watching Dew to smack again if he started acting up again.

 

Etog rolled his eyes and went to find discrete lodgings.

 

The Jedi walked behind Josk and put his hands on Josk's shoulders. "I have made arrangements for Josk," he said, "He will be cared for and treated until his health fully returns." With that, he turned back to look at the Captain of the salvage ship, "You may leave us, you will be compensated for your efforts in saving the man" The Captain smiled, obviously now promised what he truly desired, and turned to walk back to his ship. As he walked, there remained no traces of the group that had been there around Josk when they first showed up. The Jedi looked at the sky, which was beginning to turn from it's normal blue/green color of daylight to mostly green signifying the setting of the sun on NarShaddaa. "I truly hope you find the man you are looking for and the source of those feathers." he said, looking once again upon the party, "NarShaddaa is filled with sources of information, you only have to know where to look. May the Force be with you." And with that, he took one of Josk's around his shoulder and supported him as they walked away. Josk did not put up any fight, it was clear he was in pain and knew his best option was with the Jedi.

The words echoed in the minds of those among the party who heard it, NarShaddaa is filled with sources of information, you only have to know where to look.

 

Reno was not going to fight with the Jedi about his decision, and chose not to pursue the captain. Instead he chose to be patient. If anyone knew Narshadaa, it was him. He would think of something and share it later. In the meantime, he chose to let his party decide what to do. Maybe they had some ideas. If anything, he mentioned hitting up some cantinas and just asking around was always a good place to start.

 

after considering Reno's idea, Dew thinks its a good one, but he states that he doesnt know the area and will follow someone else advice before his own here.

 

Mowlu growls at Dew, attempting to attract his attention "Let the two of us head over to my former master's haunt. I knew the area somewhat and the cantina's as well. We should be able to fish up some information, and not have much trouble as I have somewhat of a reputation now in those parts. And I doubt anyone is going to want to be pissing off this wookiee anytime soon." Mowlu relayed what he said to the other 2 members of the party before gesturing for Dew to follow... Which mainly meant Mowlu grabbed Dew by the cuff, tossed him infront of him, and put a boot to his rear end to get the fat kid moving. "Move it, otherwise I'll feed you to a Syren Plant!!!"

 

Reno shook his head, and followed the wookies. He only hoped that they wouldnt cause too much ruckus.
