Now when I tried to load the forum list from a browser bookmark, I got an HTTP 400 Bad Request error: "Your browser sent a request that the server could not understand." On clicking the bookmark again, it loaded fine, albeit slowly.

I'm not seeing any issues in Chrome, so it's possibly related to Firefox - did it update recently?

Not recently before you posted that. However, when I checked the version, Firefox offered me an update from 35.0.1 to 36.0, which I just completed. After that, pages here are still being very slow to load.

I see an error message about a database deadlock in the server log around the time you posted. I'm guessing the boards were just a bit busy.

Haven't seen any more errors in the server log. Speed seems OK to me but then with all the net problems I've had lately I wouldn't use my access as representative. Sometimes just getting here is an achievement!

Actually a couple of mods posted recently over in the mod forum about the same issue so I don't think it's just you.

I've had a lot of misdirects and random hyperlinks showing up again last few days when browsing TFN. I've also had some kind of malware called Rouge something detected on my system. I removed it. Just thought perhaps Fett and MS should know. I may not be the only user having such issues. Striving to keep atop things on my end.

Rogue_Ten has been infecting your machine?

If you have malware on your system it's very likely the source of the random hyperlinks you're seeing here. We haven't been getting any flags (Which is usually the preliminary warning sign that somebody might have tried to put something malicious on our boards) but we'll keep our eyes open.

I haven't had any issues either. It was probably local to your machine.

You have to host the image on an offsite service like Photobucket or Imgur, and embed using [img]image url[/img] tags.

I tried to start a conversation with one member in the JCF today, but I got this error message: You may not start a conversation with the following recipients. Why is this happening?

Users can block private conversations. If you want to PM me the name of the user you were trying to contact I can look into it further.

Is it possible to embed a sound file in a post? (I can upload the file to Google Drive or to Soundcloud or equivalent.)

Possibly if the site is compatible with the [media=type]identifier[/media] tag. Not sure if those are.
