Amph Doctor Who Discussion (Russell T. Davies returns)

Just heard the TCM announcer promo the movie with, "Peter Cushing's got a wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey machine in 'Dr. Who and the Daleks'." Now I'm waiting to hear how Ben Mankiewicz will introduce it.

 

Peter Capaldi Wants Carole Ann Ford Back

From the article: "Asked if she'd be interested in returning, she [Ford] confirmed: 'Yeah, of course! Are you kidding?'"

This is very hopeful! In a previous interview with her a couple years or so ago, she kind of poo-poo'd the show and seemed to admit she wished she hadn't been in it. Now it appear she's keen to (possibly) get involved again. And of course, with Gallifrey out there somewhere as we know from the end of The Day of the Doctor, it's altogether possible for her to return.

Obviously, nothing's been confirmed, but we can at least hope for the return of the Doctor's granddaughter and first ever companion!

Is Susan a Time Lord or a standard Gallifreyan? Because if its the former, then she could always Regen.

At minimum, have Carole Ann Ford come back as an elderly Susan ASAP before she passes on, have her Regenerate into a second Susan. At best have her do all that, and be a companion again, and hopefully with better characterization than the one she got during Classic S1 and S2.

 

That's never been clear (mostly because regeneration hadn't come into being by the writers when Carole Ann Ford left).

Reading Doctor Who Magazine this month brought up an interesting concept.

In The Runaway Bride, we see the Earth form around a Webstar. Does that mean that Mondas also formed around a Webstar?

Could there be Cyber-Racnoss?

Perhaps it was the Queen's webstar. The Queen states she's been hiding at the edge of the universe; Mondas drifted across space. Perhaps she broke out at some point to return home?

Interesting concept anyway. Certainly got me thinking.

 

Sounds like the Doctor Who Series 8 soundtrack is out but not yet on I-tunes. Also includes Last Christmas.

12th Doctor theme, Hello Hello, The Majestic Tale of an Idiot with a Box and others are all very good.

 

I know where my early morning will be spent.

 

So apparently this is a thing that is happening. Not sure what this 'festival' will consist of.

 

Since Juliet mentioned the Doctor Who comics from Titan....I'll go ahead and say I've read them all and they're all very good. 10's arcs are the best so far, IMO, and I'm saying that as a huge 11 fan. 11's have been good, but they're missing the particularly creative fun seen in 10's comics. Although 11 does have a David Bowie companion so idk maybe that comic is better if only for that. 12's pretty good as well.

 

Nicola Murray & Malcolm Tucker go head to head again in the new series of Doctor Who.

Rebecca Front joins the guest cast in the upcoming Zygons two-part adventure.
