So Rey's Survival Guide came in, and I thought I'd take a peek at it. And then I ended up finishing the whole thing in one sitting. Oops.

It's really fun -- you get a real sense of Rey's aptitude and hands-on knowledge. You also get a real sense that Jakku is the worst planet. Ever. The book has a lot of illustrations as these journal series books do, lots of topological, zoological, and technical details, and it's also funny.

Definitely worth a read. And a few notes for a couple people...

Gorefiend when Rey discusses the sacred villages, one of whom worships the Force, she also mentions a village that worships Hutts. They even decorated and bejeweled a Hutt cranial ridge. What the hell. :p

AdmiralNick22 some discussion of Mon Cal cruisers, including some info that was new to me at least -- some of the blisters on the ships are actually detachable ships! Also she describes them as looking like plants with fungus spores growing on them, hah!

GrandAdmiralJello oh wait that's me. Anyway, Rey mentions how on some worlds happabores are used to transport royalty and there is this cute illustration of an armored happabore with this bannered royal pavilion on its back with a royal couple. Amazing.

Anyway, that's just a taste! Take a look at it, it's neat.

That idea originated with Compete Vehicles a couple of years back - which depicted Home One and its detachable shuttle.

Yeah, the Star Cruiser detachable shuttle is actually one of the best explanations for the 3km Viscount in Vector Prime.

As Jason Fry Prime subscribers, enjoy this tour of my writing workspace/Star Wars library, complete with shaky camera work and rambling narration. (Someone asked and I thought, "Eh, why not?")

Points to the person who finds the most obscure Star Wars title on the shelves.

Not the most obscure, but I have that same edition of the first SW novel.

Oh, so is that a confirmation that there are MCs in the wreckage then? I've heard as much but never noticed one.

    There's one in battlefront.

But yes, there are. Rey discusses how they're harder to salvage because many components are MC-centric and not easily adapted.

The salvage stuff is really interesting.

The most coveted book on those shelves, for me, is GoF #10....I just cannot find that for a decent (warranted) price anywhere! Also didn't see any Dragon Books Ewoks or Droids adaptions.....for shame Mr. Fry, for shame ;)

Awesome video though.......makes my collection justified knowing that I'm not alone!

That was just the one ship, though. I guess it's now a norm in new canon?

Interesting, any other cool tidbits about Mon Cal cruisers? I guess the market for Mon Calamarian tech would be rather low on Jakku, given it is on the edge of Known Space and not affiliated with the New Republic.

TOD-UK - take a look at the Amazon UK Marketplace.. First one might be dodgy but it's cheap enough. Maybe worth contacting the seller?

Wonder if the detachable ships are for different purposes, some for troop movement, some for cargo or even some escort ships? And if they're on the ships we see at Endor. :D

Hi jasonfry - I have 2 questions that i would like to ask if that's okay?

firstly having read Levers of Power, I wondered what it was like to write about a relatively new but already-fan-favourite Sloane? Did you consult with JJM about it at all?!! (I loved Sloane's brutal execution scene!)

secondly - now TFA has long been out is the Hux in TFA related to your Hux in the Servants series?

Yeah, that we do know--but IIRC Jason said something about there being a great story behind that he'd share eventually. [face_mischief]

Any update on that weapons figure for the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer?

Also- thanks to the VFX video from TFA, we all got a better (albeit blurry) look at the NRDF capital ships over Hosnian Prime. I still think you're the best man for the job of fleshing them out... [:D]

This isn't specifically a question for or related to Jason Fry, but I figured those who frequent this thread may be of help. I've seen The Force Awakens five times now, and I have still never noticed Sarco Plank in the movie at all. I have heard he makes a "blink and you miss it" appearance as a background character. I assume his cameo is on Jakku. What scene does Plank show up in?
