Which of the Star Wars soundtracks is your favorite?

ESB is the strongest overall, but there's something to love about all of Williams' SW soundtracks. The music is one of the aspects of the prequels that stands with the OT and TFA has some lovely themes (even if they took a few listens/viewings to pick out).

 

ESB/ANH/ROTS/AOTC/ROTJ/TPM

Definitely TPM.

 

The entire PT soundtrack.

But to pick one, ROTS. The Immolation soundtrack and the Funeral one speaks so much volume.

 

In terms of soundtracks, I have a bunch of ties.

1. AOTC and TESB.

2. ROTS and TPM.

3. ANH and ROTJ.

4. TFA.


This does not reflect on my personal opinions of the films themselves, since my favorites are in this order:

1. TESB and ROTJ.

2. ANH and TFA.

3. ROTS.

4. TPM.

5. AOTC.

I agree with most people here that Sith is by far my favorite of all soundtracks. There's emotional depth, power, fear, anger... Oh man, I can feel the intensity in the music and how it's conveying Anakin's turmoil. Ughhh, I love it.

I won't even attempt rating them most-least favorite because ROTS just rates that highly for me, lol.

 

Although The Empire Strikes Back has the most famous Star Wars soundtrack that is Imperial March, The Phantom Menance delivering the epic Duel of the Fates, and A New Hope pioneering the significance ot the Force Theme, overall, it's got to be Revenge of the Sith.

It's probably the only film in the saga so far in which the music conveys all emotions and themes the best way possible: love and loss, brotherhood and betrayal, courage and sacrifice, and the death of dreams.

I have to go with TESB though really ANH, ROTS, and TPM are all extremely close too. The only two that I find a little underwhelming are ROTJ and TFA, though each has a great theme or two, as a whole their soundtracks don't stand out quite as much.

You just can't beat themes like the Imperial March, Yoda's theme, The Asteroid Field, Clash of Lightsabers, and Han & the Princess. Even the ending medley is my favorite in the series.

With heavy hitters like "Duel of the Fates," and "Qui-Gon's Noble End"..personal favorite has to be "The Swim to Otoh Gunga."

The Phantom Menace coming in a distant 3rd ain't bad

 

I would have to say ROTS is my fave soundtrack mainly because of the large amount of choral tracks, I am definitely a sucker for that kind of thing. The soundtrack gave me the feeling of being a requiem for Anakin, as it reminded me of many other Requiems and had a real deathly feel to it.

 

I like Duel of Fates.

 

ROTS or ESB, with ROTS winning by a hair.

Although I loved Duel of the Fates, it's easily one of the greatest songs ever, IMHO.

 

I think I've heard more times AOTC so far. I'm in love with "Across the stars" since the very first moment I heard it. I love the mysterious sections of music too (like the one which sounds when Obi-Wan arrives at Kamino). "The Chase Through Coruscant" is a beautiful and original experiment within the music of the saga and I love the new instruments it has. I love the musical moment when the younglings and Yoda are in the dark of the room among the stars of the maps. There are so many good moments for me and that music brings me many fond memories.

 

Same here. Those two scenes musically are so rich!

Oh man that's like picking your favorite child! I can't!

 

The Revenge Of The Sith soundtrack is amazing

 

I went with ROTS. Simply cos it has the most favorites for me.

But it was REALLY close between that and ESB. And I'm certain in a month or so ESB will be my favorite.
