Something I have problem with is when SW words are used the wrong way, like when Sith (as a swearword) is used the same way as you use 'crap' (or similar) when it should be used the same way you use 'devil' (or similar).

The EU used a lot of weird things as swear words. Jedi Trial has someone say "Blaster bolts!"

Just like we say "Bullets!" when something goes wrong.

It could be the SW version of "Blue blazes!"

I think Young Jedi Knights series had Jacen say that one a lot.

"Vader" as a substitute for "the devil" crops up now and again.

    "Vader take your rules!"

Quixotic is a term that WEG applied to one of their RPG characters. It makes me break out into a rousing chorus of "The Impossible Dream."

Since when does Space have corners?

I'm surprised nobody brought this up before ... .;)

And how about the names of all the rebel fighters? We know from onscreen evidence that they don't use our alphabet in the GFFA, so how are ships named X Y A or B wings? That utterly ruins the whole saga! RUINS, I say!!!!!1

That used to be (and, per Heir to the Jedi, still is) the "High Galactic" alphabet. ;)

But it was done perfectly -- the terms are relative, not absolute, and reflect different wings of the parties rather than absolute positions. They also don't reflect contemporary, real life positions either. There isn't a better way to employ right/left than the way it was used in Bloodline.

It's just like how the right in the 19th and early 20th century European context means something utterly different than the modern European right, much less the modern American right, etc. Same goes for the left -- you'd not consider physiocrats leftists today, but...

    "Shoot!" "Blast!" "Ka-boom!"

    wait, ignore the last one.

As Dan Wallace once put it, "…who could ever forget that great droid duo, Reshtoo-Dorntoo and Cresh-Threepethosk?"

As LelalMekha noted, the High Galactic Alphabet dodge isn't dead yet. ;-)

I never thought there were corners in time, 'til I was told to stand in one.

(Marginally on topic video! It's the B-side to the song Jefferson Starship played in the Holiday Special!)

One thing that doesn't bother me but I know bothers other people is Han Solo saying "I'll see you in hell!" Is this too specific a reference to a specific Earth religion? Or is it a general reference meaning "I'll see you in the bad afterlife! Metaphorically speaking!"

I think it may depend on whether you read it as "hell" or "Hell."

    Space Hell.

    Fixed.

Also, I present, two types of space corners:

It was eventually established by the EU as referencing a specific Corellian cultural concept of 'hell'. Which, frankly, bugs me way more than the line ever possibly could, but that's a different topic.

(I'm surprised, incidentally, that this never resulted in someone establishing the Lars family as Corellian, given Owen's "hell to pay" line in ANH).

It even gets used as a verb once - in the short story Simple Tricks:

    Fenig Nabon: "You're Sithin' Durron?!"

I don't mind Earth terms in SW.

(Somethings I don't like or want)

-Vader used a a swear or cusre
-Jedi characters, Imperial, Republic, or CIS characters using the term "Exalted One" in speaking to Jabba. or "Mighty Jabba"

Which raises the question, is Space Hell a cold or a hot place?

Why not? It shows Jabba to be a pompous windbag, if he insists on such grandious titles. Just like the "omnipotent battleleader", "Lord High Admiral", "Prince Admiral" and "Superior General" as the self-given titles of the Imperial Warlords of the Legends-verse. Although I would like, if somebody referred casually and repeatedly to Jabba as "bloated one" to his face and stays alive.

Both? Getting colder as you approach the core. I wonder what Space Traitors are in the Space Devil's Space Mouth.
