Not only the grandfather got an update. Us, too.

Nice to show us the past of Obi-Wan this way.

This was a great update early. I've been an advocate of an Obi-Wan spin off film because he's obviously an essential character to Star Wars, but he's also someone they could expand upon in terms of his past history, as you have, and also his future. (Rey?) Either way, seeing Obi-Wan's family connections was cool and seeing the Jedi pick up a padawan was too.

I like to give Obi-Wan a family and more is to come

    Entry 30
Ere-Dun will leave tomorrow and Ghari Adin came back with his supplies.

It is one week since Kor-Ben came to the healers and last night Aaqu had strange dreams. He told me all about the dreams and was wondering if they are dreams.

I told him they were not because Qui-Gon had been in my ‘dream’ too telling all about the teachings of the Whills.

Aaqu began to tell about a voice sounding exactly like Qui-Gon Jinn that was telling him to keep faith in the future.
Qui-Gon wants to become his teacher and when he began to tell his story Aaqu knew for sure that they were not dreams and listened to him.

Qui-Gon Jinn has discovered something a long time ago in the archives of the Jeditemple. Aaqu repeated what Qui-Gon had told. This were his words “I was on an assignment for Jocasta Nu to the archives and Obi-Wan was assisting me with moving artworks. I found an old leatherbound book and it was the teaching of the Whills. It was that day when Obi-Wan was injured when he went to the shopping mall with Siri.”

That was a day we still remembered and of course the days afterwards. Enga and Shika Diir contacted Aaqu after the surgery and were saying that Qui-Gon should stay in Obi-Wan’s room. Shika Diir had already assigned room number 9 to them. Obi-Wan would need all the help he could get. He recovered and went with his master and me and Benno Perion to Lingala.

During that trip Yoda contacted Aaqu and said that Shh-kir had become one with the Force.

That was the moment for Qui-Gon to become very interested in the teachings of the Whills.
He had been studying them for some time and Shh-kir had given him some copies of the texts. Qui-Gon has been teaching Obi-Wan and Yoda for seven years now.

Teachings of the Wills were known to me because I had seen a book in Eled-Hir’s place.

Love the addition of Qui-Gon Jinn early. It's also a great depiction of Yoda and Obi-Wan learning more from their "master." Nicely done. :D

I love that Obi-Wan can be injured enough to require surgery on essentially a date with Siri. How typical for that boy. [face_laugh]

I am back after the move and here is the next entry

    Entry 31
We have obtained a copy of the book of the Whills. Eled-Hir sent it to our comstation.

Qui-Gon is teaching us more about the Whills.
About compassion being the key to merge with the Force and still retain a link with the world. Qui-Gon knew it when he died on Naboo and could comfort his apprentice who became a knight and master so soon.

I saw Qui-Gon and greeted him telling that Kor-Ben Kenobi is as bad as his grandson.

Kor-Ben is complaining about being stuck to his bed.

I will get a wheelchair for him so that he can move around in the house.

Qui-Gon smiled when we told him more of the habits of Kor-Ben. So like his padawan, so like himself.

It was wise of Eled-Hir to send this copy. Imagine that this priceless knowledge of the Whills would have been lost forever more!

Qui-Gon the teacher of the last Jedi and one of my favorite characters

    Entry 32
Qui-Gon told about the mishap faced by Obi-Wan when he tangled with a Tusken-raider. He went to Mos-Eisley and was treated there by Tonia Egvards. This time no infections bothered him and I remembered that day after the battle of Geonosis.
Obi-Wan had been home for a week in the temple and he had persuaded Luminara Unduli to release him from the healer’s. He hadn’t been to the usual healer’s ward and me but he went to the temporary ward in the ‘old folk’s home’. Anakin had been staying there and Obi-Wan had given Anakin permission to escort Padme to Naboo.

But Aaqu sensed something wrong and brought a protesting knight to the healers’ ward where I removed a little chip of his thighbone and cleaned that wound and the wound in his arm. We had him in his usual room and Aaqu even stayed with him when Obi-Wan was dreaming and telling about those dreams.
That dream has become true. Stormtroopers are wearing masks and Darth Vader is a masked black being. We gave him light Templeduty afterwards and he began his teachings of younglings. Yoda was very pleased to have his help.

Dreaming about Vader must have kept Obi-Wan up on many nights. We can only imagine the guilt Obi-Wan felt.

Superb. The progression of Anakin to Vader is always very, very intriguing and compelling. [face_thinking] And the ones who witnessed it unfold and didn't think to stop it in hindsight probably had many regrets. @};-

and if he could have done things differently
there were subtle signs unnoticed by all
    and he couldn't do anything

    Entry 33
Yesterday it was 20 years ago that Qui-Gon became one with the Force.

    We remembered him of course.
    Qui-Gon
I met him when he was an initiate.
He became friends with Mace Windu and Benno Perion.
As initiates they were the cause of a lot of funny things happening in the temple.

Riding the banister was one example and it landed them in the healer’s ward where I had to treat them giving therapy. That was when they landed on an unsuspecting archivist coming to the vault and carrying a large load of datadisks. Archive-disasters indeed, just like Obi-Wan when he managed to crash the entire archive-computer.
Snowball fights, waterfights, pillowfights, you name them, they did it.

He became a padawan of Yoda until Yoda decided to become a crèche master and teach initiates once more.
Count Dooku was his second master and chose him at 10 years of age after a lightsaberfight.
Count Dooku was a stern teacher and he learned the old ways of lightsaber-combat.

He had no love for the animals Qui-Gon seemed to find everywhere.
Qui-Gon often came to me holding an injured cat or bird and asked me to treat them.
From these living helpless creatures he learned compassion, not from his master.

He became a knight at a young age.
And we told Kor-Ben about the apprentices of Qui-Gon.
Of Xanatos and how he turned leaving Qui-Gon a devastated man who was saved by Obi-Wan who taught him to be happy again, to be a father for his apprentice.

Seven years in exile already? Time sure moves fast. Nice reflection on Qui-Gon.

I find it hilarious to think about the always stern Mace Windu as an initiate doing things like that. I wonder what caused him to change his ways?

    Entry 34
Yes, I am becoming a father.

Aranella is pregnant and has now preferences for all kinds of weird food.

Ghari complained – but with a big smile on his face – that his jar with pickled cucumbers is empty. And he found his stash of chocolate bars gone.

I will bring new supplies after visiting Rhonda.

Kor-Ben has left our care but he will come back for a check-up.
