Fun You know you're a nerd when...

When you are looking at clothes at a thrift store, find a pair of pajama pants that look like what Conor McGregor wore to his UFC 205 press conference and think "well if nothing else, I could dress as a female McGregor next year.

 

When you get to a rant with a colleague and almost start crying because all you want to do is read Catalyst darn it and you have quizzes to grade.

 

This just popped into my head the other day.

Back in middle school I was told some juicy gossip by a female classmate of mine, who then tells me in that cool guy/cool girl sort of way to keep it on the DL. I had no idea what she meant by that, and being a baseball player and fan at the time (late 90s), I immediately responded by asking "disabled list?" with a confused look on my face. She says "no, the down-low", while gesturing for me to keep hush hush about it.

That's when I knew I was a nerd and could never go back.

 

When you look up at the moon and see a xenomorph.

 

...when your 2 year old nephew is wearing a SW t-shirt and can point out Vader on his and the one you are wearing too.

 

When you buy merch instead of food.

 

You bring a book to read at a ska concert and start reading even when a band is playing.

 

...when Harry removes the Horcrux and hands it to Hermione you realize it's a Snickers bar moment.

 

...you think every road sign across the country that says "Do Not Pass" should have a picture of Gandalf on it.

 

You're completely wasted on vodka and tequila shooters, and you still know that the odds of successfully navigating an asteroid field are 3,720 to 1

When you were a kid and some adult would say the word thesaurus and you would get excited because you thought they were talking about dinosaurs.

 

When you start calling every kid you see a youngling.

 

I once high-fived a complete stranger in public because he was wearing a 'Five Nights at Freddy's' T-shirt.

Also, I started watching the big Bang Theory (a little late to the party) and the episode came on where they're playing Klingon Boggle. Seeing the klingon dictionary on their coffee table, I exclaimed to my wife, "I have that!" I then ran into the other room, found the book, and returned proudly with it. She didn't seem to share my excitement.

 

When you take a final exam and go, "Crom, I've never prayed to you before..."

 

When you see a cat sitting in a window and swear you hear it say, Khajit has wares if you have coin.
