TFU, even before Disney flushed the EU, I always sort of considered a 'what-if' story anyway. Starkiller felt bland and the way they bent things to nonsensical levels to have the rebellion be all around him and the machinations of the Emperor, even though it was always clear before that it was simply a group of like-minded people getting together for what's right...ugh. In any case, I played the wii version and it was fun flinging things around with it, so I was able to overlook the story as 'fanfic with a budget' stuff like a lot of the games are.

The reason i dont like that Palpatine gathered his enemies in one spot under the pretense that they were starting an rebellion, is because i don't like that the rebel alliance was formed out of a failed Sith plot. I prefer that several cells of Rebels rebelled on their own, and then later together formed the Rebel alliance. It takes away from the non-force users when in TFU, Galen Marek is the biggest reason the Rebel alliance was formed.

And do you know what Ezra, Luke and Rey have in common? They were all trained after the fall of the Republic, where as Koth Amada was trained before the fall of the republic and by Mace Windu of all people. Mace claiming 9 year old Anakin was to old to be trained, and then training someone twice his age is my biggest problem with Kota. The character itself is fine.

TFU had some neat stuff in it, but the story was its biggest problem, so I'm glad its not canon anymore

If you want to continue this subject, PM me. That way we won't fill this thread with an unrelated discussion

TFU was meant to become its one trilogy and become official canon, but George ditched that idea in the end. The idea was pulled after TFU 2.

Because you don't put your elite on guard duty or at least on earth. They are uasully used to extract or kill a high value target. That's like saying why doesn't Seal Team 6 protect military projects. Because there are way better things they could do with their skills.

I actually don't mind the idea of Palpatine being behind the Rebellion. In a way, it's part of the overconfidence of his nature. He knew it worked with the Separatists and figured it would work again. Oops.

First TFU was actually pretty good IMHO but second one was a failure- sure Starkiller was not that great character maybe and definitely overpowered, but many elements were kinda epic in it. Good thing there is no TFU2 in canon anymore- ending was so bad with Vader captured and all.

I loved the Vader parts of the story for TFU 1. Having Starkilker as a quasi Luke MK1 and capturing the complexity of Vader was great. That line at the end "He's dead then" and the regret played in it was well delivered. The idea of him having a student and using him and the Rebellion to help weaken the Emperor, for his own ascent to power, is in character and works for me.
I also love Starkilkers response to the Droid hating being Vader, so does he :)

Definitely Mandalorian. People can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 99% certain it says
    KENOBI
Writing is a bit crude but every letter apart from the E appears more or less a dead ringer.

I'll add my moral support on this. I avoided the previews for last week and I think I got more out of it.

You also are forgetting Marine Security Guards and that the special forces(and there is quite a few) have a broader role. Clone Force 99 or Scar Squadron or something like them could be deployed to train the recruits or enlisted men in special tactics so they can hunt down and eliminate the Lothal Rebel militia or terrorists or insurgents whatever you want to call them or to themselves go after the Rebel leaders and fleet as the USA did Osama and Al Qaeda or ISIS and special forces were essential in bringing down the Taliban. Point is counter-insurgency specialists. Why isnt there any updating and training the regular enlisted man and security forces or they should be deployed or both. Lothal isnt even a country, its a planet. Certainly you can also have elite and special operation forces based and stationed on the planet or near it and able have the ability to rapidly respond on short notice to expeditionary crises an Imperial world and an apparently high value one. In fact Lothal also has its own military training bases and recruits so each Imperial world has local recruits and soldiers coming from afar.

Certainly you would have some of your best divisions acting as planetary security and to guard high value bases and installations. Its not clear why neither Tarkin nor Thrawn possess crack soldiers, so far all his men and commanders are as bad as the idiots in season one and some are carryovers even. And would you believe TFU did a better job of actually having specialized and elite military branches and forces stationed on such planets and some even equipped to handle rogue Jedi warriors. We had Imperial Navy Commandos, Evo Troopers, Inferno Troopers, Purge Troopers, Shadow Guards, Stormtrooper Commanders, Jump Troopers & Heavy Troopers that I recall. Being that Lothal is a hotbed of insurgency and Jedi led rebellion , a planet that has top secret military and scientific research and development projects, factories and a religious temple of warrior monks that are essentially almost superheroes you would think yes you would want elite military forces and at least one Inquisitor would be based on Lothal. The Emperor himself is invested in the planet personally.

Nothing I am saying is really any different that saying, hey where are the Death Troopers, the Shadow Troopers the Shock Troopers?!

I think these guys are the canon version of shock troopers. They showed up with Tarkin and we haven't seen troopers like them since... other than in ANH, where Vader and his officer sent similar looking troops to Tatooine to go after the Death Star Plans (why send a group of novices to do such a job? they even had a spy...)

The Death Troopers probably stick around the head of the Death Star project (hence their name), and Shadow Troopers aren't canon as far as I know.

From what we've seen so far, there's less rebellion during the Dark Times than in Legends. No planet-wide conflicts, just 'cells' causing trouble. The more 'special' troopers might show up when the GCW is declared and entire planets lose their fear of the empire. Especially following the death star's destruction.

Looks like you're right. The more they seem to hint at this storyline of learning about the important things on Tatooine, the more I wonder if Ezra's destiny in the series involves Luke, at least indirectly. Like eventually Ezra sees that he's not the one who will save the galaxy. That ultimately the success of Rebellion or the future of the Jedi doesn't hinge on him. If the series ends with Ezra sacrificing himself to save Luke from either Maul or the Empire, I think that would be an interesting arc for his character. Both a contrast to the selfish street rat of the pilot and the self important warrior willing to do anything to win of this season.
