I will post a response tomorrow. And yes, Onasi. He's one of my characters from my old Star Wars *table top* campaign. ;)

Hesper could hear the mechanics of Reiis' leg whirring as she struck out in an attempt to trip Hesper; quickly, Hesper twisted away with a pivot on her left foot, and ducked as Reiis' black blade came at her. She was clever, Hesper would give her that, but Hesper was light on her feet whereas Reiis' mechanic limbs were slow and cumbersome-- not to mention noisy. Calmly, Hesper brought her saber up with both hands and settled into a stable ready position with right foot forward and left foot back and angled.

"Shall we fight as civilized women, now?" Hesper chuckled.

Indeed, how did one act upon such words in the face of adversity?

“Well…” Bastilus began, briefly pausing to consider his next words.

“Aside from our words, our actions tell the tale of who we are. We act and do the things in accordance to what we cherish the most.”

Bastilus offered the miraluka a soft smile and a nod. He could well understand what she was going through. Even now, the jedi were still recovering from the nigh irreparable damage caused by the Empire so long ago- and now this unprecedented betrayal did not help matters in the least, in fact, it made them worse.

The sound of rhythmic clapping broke through the moment, suddenly becoming the center of attention.

A young man in dark clothing with leather straps and partial armor rounded a broken down wall, as he clapped . He wore an odd looking expression on his face. His hair was buzzed, yet he had a long dark ponytail falling over his half cloak. A pair of lightsabers were visibly hanging from two of the three belts around his waist and hip. His black boots crunched the dirt beneath him quite audibly.

But the most salient feature was not his mocking face or dark clothes, but the shroud of the darkside that clung to him.

“Aren’t you a regular inspiration, eh old timer?” He jeered.

“Those are the worst pick-up lines I’ve ever heard outside a cantina. Even worse, you trying to get jiggy with a blind woman? For shame!”

The young man laughed derisively at them, quite openly. He was clearly enjoying himself at their expense.

"We act and do the things in accordance to what we cherish the most."
She pondered this, sensing his smile. Edo was an orderly person, normally, she applied this to herself in the same way a judge applies the law. What did she cherish? Edo ruminated on this.
Well, what was she doing? Currently looking for courage and strength, but why? It dawned on her that she had been hoping that there would be more survivors, that it wasn't the end, that she wouldn't have to bury her lightsaber.
So deep in thought, she didn't sense the dark-sided approach until...
    A clap.
"Aren't you a regular inspiration, eh old timer?"
Insufferable, she thought. A darksider, coming here? After the death already hurt everyone?
    "...For shame!"
If that was insufferable... Summoning her Jedi peace, she asked, "What brings a darksider here, in a Jedi ruin? Have you come for knowledge, or murder?

Reiis wasn't about to give Hesper much of a chance to recover, and her High Lord opponent hadn't even finished her sentence when Reiis closed the distance. A mechanical voice, though clearly a human's, would emanate tauntingly through the soft monotone breathing of Reiis's respirator.

    "If it pleases you, M'lady."

Reiis set her lightsaber into a rapid spin -- one of the many benefits of having prosthetics -- and swung it down upon the High Lord.

"What brings a darksider here, in a Jedi ruin? Have you come for knowledge, or murder?”

Indeed. The miraluka woman asked a very good question. Bastilus folded his arms over his chest and raised a questioning eyebrow. He was please to note the miraluka’s woman’s tone of voice was devoid of negative emotion.

The darksider continued to laugh, perhaps intending to disregard the question.

In an instant, Bastilus’ face registered surprise as he dove to one side, narrowly avoiding a large boulder that came careening his way. But before he could even react, a stream of force lightning struck him square in the chest.

Bastilus groaned as he struggled to remain conscious, but still fell down unceremoniously upon the dirt and rubble.

“Ask a stupid question…” The darksider said with derision, then spat on the ground. He looked down at Bastilus’ still form and snorted before turning to the miraluka woman.

“He’s weak an pathetic. All Jedi are!” He asserted, now taking a step towards her. The darksider gestured then with his right hand, and a lightsaber flew into his waiting grasp. In a blink, the darksider ignited his crimson weapon, which flared into being.

    *Shwoommm*

“After I dispatch the both of you, the Supreme Leader will recognize me as his chosen.”

The darksider came running at Edo Vilsa. He swiftly brought his weapon down in a diagonal slash as soon as he was in striking range, fully intending on slicing her from neck to hip.

Gasping as she saw the boulder rushing towards the jedi, she put all of her focus into shoving the boulder out of his way, but with her undeveloped telekinesis, he only avoided it by diving away. Then, seeing the agonizing force lightning, she ran over, but the lightning hit him before she could get there. Seeing his life, she quickly turned to the darksider, who had just ignited his blade.
"After I dispatch the both of you, the Supreme Leader will recognize me as his chosen.”
"This leader will recognize you for the murder of people you call weak and pathetic?" she asked as she brought her lightsaber in a block parallel to the ground.
She hoped that this encounter could end without death; she believed in exhausting every other option before killing. She hoped this encounter would end without death; she was convinced the force was with her.

The darksider’s crimson blade crashed viciously against the miraluka’s lit weapon, sparking furiously as soon as they made contact. For the briefest second, the darksider seemed surprised. Perhaps he had not expected her to block so quickly, or so steadily.

Feeding on anger and his frustration at being blocked, he exerted himself, pressing downward with a surge of strength. His intention was to have their blades burn her. To that end, he made a spiting motion, aimed for her eye.

Her words had annoyed him even more.

    “Jedi scum!” he snarled.

If the spit didn’t shake her enough for the blades to come down on her, perhaps a swift and viciously delivered kick to her shin would do the trick.

Amid their struggle, the prone form of Bastilus, stirred with a groan.

Fighting to regain control of her blade, Edo was not in her element. When going to a planet assumed abandoned, she didn't consider it necessary to brush up on her lightsaber technique.
Sadly, she realized, with the resurgence of the dark side this could become quite common.
She knew that the blades were likely to burn her if they came any closer, so she extinguished her blade and jumped back. Then, she swung her saber horizontally, hoping to cut his hilt in half.
But when she jumped back, she saw the older Jedi reviving. Well, she supposed, maybe she could stand with the dark Jedi long enough for him to wake up.

His tricks hadn’t worked on the Jedi- and then he realized it, as he too jumped back out of contact range.

The jedi woman was a miraluka. She was already blind. How did that detail escape him?

Feelings of anger and embarrassment welled-up inside the dark haired youth. Making those kind of mistakes was the reason he had not been able to surpass Kylo.

The very thought of his ‘competition’ for the Supreme Leader’s attention caused his inner spitefulness to spike. In that moment, he’d heard the ‘old timer’ groan, which inspired a malicious thought- and thought became action.

Edo’s lightsaber sliced through empty air, striking where the darksider’s weapon was just moments ago. With his free hand, he sent another jolt of force lightning at Bastilus, which hit him squarely.

    **ZZAAAP!**

“Be still old man. Arkayd commands it.” He sneered.

“Alright…” the darksider said, musing aloud. “Guess I’ll need to try something else on you.”

His focus now returned to the miraluka woman, as he twirled his blade once in his hand.

“Anywhere specific you want to be buried?”

Having seen the darksider's maneuvers and force power, she had doubted her blade would connect. Still, the benefit was that she had a free moment while he was avoiding her attack.
But then, the darksider hit Bastilius again, and she knew that she was probably alone now, unless he had managed to put up a force barrier before the lightning had hit him.
At least this might still be an opportunity. When his attention was still on Bastilius, she used his diversion to sense his thoughts, feeling the leader he spoke of, and a fight, the total outcome unknown, but present was the spite for the Opponent, with his...
Quickly expanding her senses to scan the surrounding ruins, she locked on to the object...
"Anywhere specific you want to be buried?"
Dropping her customary Jedi weapon, she grabbed the cross guard lightsaber that she miraculously maneuvered into the room, ignited it, and struck at his left arm, hoping for him to be frustrated so she could catch him off guard.

Bastilus still clenched his teeth as he allowed spasms to course through his body. At least he was still conscious, though immobile for the moment. All he could do was watch as the miraluka jedi defended herself.

Silently, the former Jedi Instructor thanked The Force, that with his jedi reflexes, he managed to erect a force barrier just in time to mitigate the second volley of force lightning the darksider shot his way. The villain was too busy in combat with the female miraluka to notice that he had not been knocked unconscious once again. This time, he would make sure not to utter a sound and let the spasms dissipate. He couldn’t let anxiety overtake him, he needn’t rush into battle.

He needed to trust in the Force and its timing.

For now, all he could do was look on. His eyes now fell on the two figures dueling several meters ahead of him while he lay on the dusty ground.

Edo Vilsa was in the moment and did not squander any of the opportunities presented to her. While the darksider taunted her, she stretched forth with her keen force senses, probing her opponent.

In her minds eyes, she saw a dark collage of super-imposed images. The face of a horribly scarred humanoid dominating and towering over a ruined and hopeless landscape, a cloaked figure in a dark mask, wielding a cross saber, freezing him in place time and time again, robbing him of victory, mocking, gloating. Arkayd, slaying other beings in fits of rage, many weaponless. Bodies of youngsters strewn in the rain amid a burning academy.

All this she saw in a span in a heartbeat, fortunately for her, such images did not break her focus, but rather, bolstered her resolve.

Edo dropped extinguished her green lightsaber, which was immediately replaced by a cross guard lightsaber she had miraculously plucked from somewhere within the jedi ruins. She ignited the weapon and a blue colored blade sprang forth.

“Kriffing Frakk! where the hell did you….!!??”

Arkayd’s anger crested, spiked by a wave of confusion and fear. Instinctively, he grabbed and ignited his second lightsaber, but doing so prevented him from mounting a proper defense.

Edo successfully struck his left arm, causing him to scream out in pain and drop the very weapon he had just grabbed.

“NO!! I won’t be beaten again! I won’t!!” Arkayd snarled as he stumbled backwards and recoiled. He swung his remaining weapon horizontally in an effort to keep his opponent at bay.

Edo was quite surprised by the second saber, and slightly worried that this would put her at a severe disadvantage. She was pleased, breathing a sigh of relief when her attack had landed. She was unprepared, however, for the ferocity, sheer anger that powered his next attack.
She blocked it, her saber shaking, her unfamiliarity with this cross guard visible. As she turned her saber so it was perpendicular to Arkayd's, she shuddered, thinking of the horrible things he must have done, the Jedi he had killed. Her sorrow, and fear, and frustration was building, but she stopped it up, thinking of what would honor their life. Was there any mercy in him? Anything leading to the light?
"You don't have to be beaten," she probed. "Even now, you could find atonement, and peace."

"You don't have to be beaten," Edo said, probing. "Even now, you could find atonement, and peace."

    The response was immediate.

The Darksider cackled in laughter. It was a horrible mocking sound.

“Have you not be paying attention? Are you truly blind!!?” he queried in mock incredulity. It was almost an accusation.

“The Jedi are no more. The light is being driven from the galaxy as the Supreme Leader ushers in a new order. The First Order!!”

Arkayd’s eyes glinted with malice, emboldened by his own words. Suddenly, he moved with incredible speed as he attacked the female miraluka anew. The darksider’s lightsaber swung in a low and deadly arc, aimed at the blind Jedi’s feet. The move was immediately followed by a side-thrust kick meant to knock her down or off-balance, should the initial attack not succeed.

As the fighting progressed in front of him, Bastilus slowly rose to his feet.

Maybe she was blind, Edo reflected. Maybe the light side was being extinguished.
But that didn't mean she would stop serving or defending it.
Sensing a stray thought, she managed to jump seconds before angry swing came under her feet. However, she didn't manage to avoid the kick that took her out of concentration and off balance, but she managed stab with her lightsaber at Arkayd's shoulder.

Just losing an apprentice, Ravenous didn't truly know if he was happy or disappointed... Having such promise, the apprentice was not a Sith, rather a Dark Jedi...

He took in the cool nights air of the temple courtyard and sent a message through the Force to an unfinished task...

To teach the metal beast known as Darth Grievance the ways of the Dark Side. Much like his Master, Darth Hades had taught him. The Kaleeshian, while not his apprentice, was still in need of a lesson. One of defeat... of... pain.

The blind jedi jumped over his low slash at her legs. Arkayd cursed aloud, but his kick managed to find her! He immediately grinned from ear to ear and was ready to gloat, that is, until her lightsaber blade stabbed at his shoulder.

Arkayd cryed-out in pain and surprise, but the darkside was with him, as he only suffered a singeing burn. The blind miraluka had been falling away as she attacked, preventing the strike from damaging him fully.

Full of combat adrenalin and yelling in anger, he sent a stream of force lightning at her, hoping to capitalize on her lack of balance. So focused was he on Edo, that the darksider was completely unaware as Bastilus began to advance towards him from behind.

Grievance has heard, all right. Heard, felt, sensed. Whatever term the Force-educated ones would use. The call to arms; a call he couldn't ignore even if he wanted to. War is is his blood; his own heart beats to the rhythm of combat. He already knows who has summoned him; a former opponent who had stalemated their previous duel for reasons beyond what the cyborg had been aware of. To this day, Grievance has not counted that duel a victory, but unfinished business. He knew Darth Ravenous would eventually return to finish what he had started.

Stepping out of the shadows, the Kaleesh warrior rises to face his fate once again. Ravenous, though uncouth to the hilt, has Grievance's respect. He would not deny that he views this challenge as an honor, being that the Sith spawn has recently taken up the title of high lord. High lords aren't likely to waste their time on someone they could kill easily; not that Grievance thinks of himself as worthy, but he does possess a level of confidence in his ability to withstand this challenge.

"I fully expected you to finish what you started, high lord Ravenous of the Sith Empire," he greets his opponent with a bow of respect, then straightens, flicking the clasp on his cloak and shedding the heavy armored fabric, "Lead me down your path; I will follow. And I fully intend to live to tell the tale."

Preferring to duel wield simply for the sense of being balanced, the Kaleesh warrior draws and ignites two sabers, both of them burning a bright sapphire blue. From there, he takes up his fighting stance and begins to circle slowly, giving Ravenous the opportunity of the first strike.

The Sith-Spawn pursued the Kaleeshian's circling while keeping up his aggressive stance. He knew Grievance was waiting for him to attack, so he would. There was no need for deception in this battle against another foe that embraced melee combat. However, he would give him a taste what he so despised. Ravenous pulled his free hand out and targeted the Cyborg's legs with Dark Side tendrils. The Sith-Spawn planted his appendages in the ground to amplify the connection with the Tendrils.

Suddenly jerked to a standstill as his feet become anchored against his will, Grievance stumbles against the hold, but remains upright only because of the anchoring. Naturally, he wrestles against it at first with a furious growl, but upon realizing the Force is at work here, he knows struggling is futile and instead braces himself should Ravenous decide to attack with his weapon while he is immobilized.

"You had my full attention the moment you summoned me, m'lord," he remarks, his voice calm and level, "But now, were it possible, I would double it."

His eyes remain solidly fixed on the high lord, awaiting part two of his attack without the slightest trace of fear despite the serious disadvantage he has been placed under. He is simply ready. Waiting. He has been given no choice but to be on the defensive now and that is just fine by him.
