Hah. I actually really like the idea of that Star Wars Made Easy book. As literally the only person in my family who is into Star Wars, I could put some some use to that.

Seems like we might get some taste of the Lost TCW arcs in Ahsoka's short. We see Yoda give Ahsoka her padawan braid back in the short trailer. And the design of one of the droids is taken from one of the unproduced arcs.

I'd more enthusiastically back this position if the 2D animation wasn't just as computerised and artificial-looking via automated tweening.

I disagree with that article on a fundamental level. In my view, feature films are not a good place to "experiment" with something like Star Wars. Making a feature costs too much money, and exposes too much. I've long argued that the place for Star Wars to experiment is in quality TV. Something like Netflix or Starz would be a good place to do short, limited run series that could be more experimental. An anthology series in the vein of Black Mirror could work (by that I mean the "theme" of the Show is Star Wars, but each episode could be basically unrelated to the others). I do not want to see "21 Jump Solo" or an unremitting downer-fest as a feature. But something like those ideas might be cool as one-off episodes.

Yeah, I love that they have Rey's mum, Benecio Del Toro and Snoke, back when he had his horns, as the 3 most prominent characters.

I agree a TV show would be a better place to experiment but that's not happening, at least not now. In the meantime it would be cool to see the anthology films step away from the OT characters and plot lines and go in different directions. I'd love a smaller scale story. Not every Star Wars film should be about the rebels versus space nazi's. You could have that as a backdrop but give us another type of story. A noir inspired Star Wars film could be cool for instance.
