July Get Together 7/15/17 2pm

Let's meet up on our traditional 3rd Saturday at someplace new. The annual BBQ is going to be in Westminster in August so let's not go too far north this month.

Should we go back to the Stapleton area or back to the Colorado and I-25 area?

Sounds good. I'll be there, but it will be nap time for the little one, so FanForced and the baby womp rat will be home.

 

September meeting at Coors Brewery with accompanying tour?

 

I may not be at this one. Fidelity got approved to attend camp with other kiddos who have kidney disease, so we will be packing and getting ready to go to that.

 

I bet she is going to have a blast!

July get together notes and stuff

Attendees: he-guy, marine, Grace Devereux, gra-co_o_hun, QueenHighMistress, Obi-Wannabe, and youngling Wannabe.

Roll call topic: How do you feel about the shakeup of a new director for the Han Solo? Overall sentiment was one of mild concern, but both optimism and skepticism.

The December meeting is tentatively scheduled to be held at @he-guy's house…in December.

June get together wrap up: lots of good planning and discussion for Denver Comic Con (DCC). Good location with very attentive service. Very tasty carrot cake.

DCC wrap up :
- Trivia panel was a success. Had to roll with changes, such as lining people up in a queue room, which made handing out answer sheets…challenging. Some awkwardness handing out the correct prizes to the individuals who won them in the certain categories/levels. Idea for next year is to make colored tickets that can be passed out to people indicating the level of prize they won. Also, for promotional efforts and said tickets, gra-co_o_hun has offered his graphic design services to design a RMFF trivia logo. Initial design thoughts were to use C-3PO as the host in a suit and tie and the RMFF logo…somehow.
- RMFF table – was good to have silent bid auction items and bid sheets for said items for R2-KT Auction on Saturday. Some more organization/pre-planning/communication would have helped for the items there. Or perhaps explanation sheets.
o The trivia question activity was very successful. Next time have super easy questions for the kids or adults who know very, very little about Star Wars. Note: intent is to have the eventually answer one question right to give out a prize.
- Overall Star Wars experience area – was good to have all the SW groups working together and presenting a united front/face for DCC! Huzzah!

Riff-It Friday – The Matrix will be riff squared (attendees riffing on the movie and listening/riffing on the Rifftrax!) on Friday, July 28. Board thread here and FB event here.

August get together: A BBQ at a Westminster park/pavilion. We have reserved a pavilion at Faversham Park near 73rd Avenue and Depew Street. Potluck. Eating supplies and hot dogs and accompaniments. Check out the board thread for more details and to sign up for a dish.

Other SW news:
- There will be a Star Wars park at both Disneyland and Disney World called Galaxy’s Edge.
- New behind the scenes video promoting The Last Jedi!
- Rogue One is now available on Netflix streaming
- Rebels – season 3 will be out on DVD August 12.

And then I had to leave, so stuff was probably talked about, but they were probably too hot to be productive since all the cool left the building.
