I personally was envisioning a Caravaggio or a Velázquez something classical, the Queen seems to be more of a classicist rather than an impressionist

 

No wonder there are Neglected Cities, if you think the Queen chooses the art for all the government offices.

 

Maybe not all government offices but, these are her offices. It is the Central Government Building, East Tower which contains the office of the President and all administration functions directly related to that Office. So I'd say it is entirely likely that she personally chose the art for some of the conference rooms where she would be present for long periods of time. Meetings rarely end when they are supposed to, I'd think that'd go double for delicate matters of State. Having decoration that is pleasing to you while also being pleasing to your guests would be a matter of some import.

Since she met the team on the landing pad, I'd assume she chose the venue for their meeting as well. Why not pick a room that was best suited to your tastes?

 

I would have thought that she would have more on her plate to deal with, but you do make a fair point as well.
