And I'm heading for another 43c (about 110f) on Friday and Saturday - archery has already been cancelled

I have not had very good experiences in heat like that. I have only been in such weather twice, but both times I got very sick. I do not know why. I just know I do not want to repeat the experience.

It drains you physically and mentally. It happened last Friday and on Saturday hardly anyone turned up to archery! Out of a club of 100 8 people shot and only 16 turned up!!! I made a decision early not too shoot, didn't even take my bow. But some were enjoying sitting in the aircon and chatting so just didn't go out.

It was nice, couple of drinks and a laugh and chat is always nice. Having said that I hung out with the teens mostly or they hung with me more like. 30c today, 35c tomorrow and 38c (100f) on Thursday - Friday it gets like Hades !!!!

I do that, cold shower before bed is also good. It stays hot at night so we generally sleep on top of our beds, no covers. I feel for the dogs and guinea pigs mostly, all that fur.

Global warming does that. Temperature extremes are normal when our icecaps are melting and the glaciers are retreating. The cold water in the ocean causes currents to change, therefore weather to change. The Day After Tomorrow! Extreme version but says a lot. While the Northern Hemisphere is in extreme cold, we down here are in extreme heat. And our winters are colder and wilder now than they ever where.

Still mild here, but colder temps coming. So windy today on my commute home I had to hold the steering wheel with both hands on the bridge to keep my car steady.

Got about 3 inches of ice pellets in the driveway. It was like trying to shovel half-cured concrete. Heavy, wet, tough to break up, slick underfoot, but it still wanted to stick to the shovel. Worst shoveling ever.
