At least Barriss was only played by ONE actress. Passel had three!!! Then again, Barriss was only in one movie, but her look is consistent. Passel looks different in each one, from purple-green in TPM, to darker green in AOTC, to more of a orange-green in ROTS. Same with Denaria Kee, first she was purple and blue, then she was like burgundy and brown. I for one can't stand when there is inaccurate continuity like that. Same with Eeth Koth/Agen Kolar, Adi Gallia/Stass Allie. Hell, Orn Free Taa wasn't even the same. Why couldn't they match up better??? One of my BIGGEST complaints...and yeah, I'm on a roll today...is Saesee Tiin. He looked so alienish in TPM, but by ROTS he was just weird. He got a relatively nice face shot in TPM where we get to see his green contacts, but in ROTS he has black eyes. And don't get me started on Stass Allie being played by 47 different people in ROTS...

...but I really wish Passel's line gets reinserted to AOTC. happy

'Tis unfortunate all the interesting characters get shafted on the cutting board.

Isn't it, though? I can think of several off the top of my head...

Orn Free Taa (AOTC Senate Speech)
Ask Aak (AOTC Senate Speech)
Plo Koon (AOTC Control Ship and ROTS dialogue)
Shaak Ti (ROTS Death Scene)
Passel Argente (AOTC dialogue)
Wat Tambor (ROTS Death Scene)
Shu Mai (ROTS Death Scene)
San Hill (ROTS Death Scene)
Qui-Gon Jinn (ROTS Ghost Revelation)
Aayla Secura (ROTS dialogue)
Dar Wac (Arrest of Palpatine Scene)
Jar Jar Binks (ROTS Scenes)

I'm sure there are many, many more.

With Passels species, who's to say what is normal in skin color for them? Perhaps they change multiple colors over their lifetime. I mean the PT did take place over 13 years.

But when humans change actors its a lot more noticable and can be compared to nails on a chalk board for me. I do hate continuity fumbles on big budget movies.

I have kept telling myself that Passel's skin changes with what he eats. Like, they have a base color, of which, his is green, Denaria's is purple. Then what they eat can vary it to a certain extent, which in Passel's case are greens, browns, etc, while Denaria's skin can turn more blue.

Continuity in big budget films drive me crazy too. If the character is returning but the actor is not, then don't have the character return. It can't be pulled off otherwise.

HLAS, been a while! I too hate when actors are switched. Adi Gallia and Rune Haku being the prime examples.

Oh yeah, the Neimoidian with Nute Gunray in AOTC will always be Gilramos Libkath in my book. He's no Rune Haako, that's for sure. I'm just glad they tried hard to match Rune's TPM voice with the ROTS voice. It worked well IMO, his "Stop! No!" line sounded just like his "They are still coming through!" line from TPM.

Barriss, out of curiosity, what is your take on Stass Allie/Adi Gallia? Especially with three actors in one film. My younger sister, who is 8, thinks Adi Gallia is the one killed on Saleucami, because Gallia is one of her favorites, and in the movie theater she squealed "Oh there's Adi Gallia! Did she just die?" I didn't have the heart to tell her that wasn't Adi Gallia, despite the fact that it appeared to be her. I wish I could just say that Stass Allie doesn't exist, after all, if they did erased her character and just called her Adi Gallia, she got no real face shots so no one would complain or even know it wasn't Adi.

Poor Adi... she got the same rap as Eeth Koth and Depa. sad

I'm not sure how much you know about it StarWarsFreak2006, but Adi was originally supposed to return in ROTS. She was in the first draft of the script, and it was intended that she drive her speeder up to Aayla on Felucia before they got killed. Eventually the scene changed so much after (post)production that they changed it for good. And oddly enough, they made Adi Stass again. But if you look at the actress who played her on the speeder scene (some of the production stills that Pablo Hidalgo used to post on the OS had some good photos of the filming of the Saleucami sequence), the actress looks much more like the one who played Adi than that of Stass Allie.

Oh well. I sympathize with your sister. I wanted Adi back too.

Anyway... back on topic... um...

What were we talking about again? That green thing in the dirty old rags with the Klingon nose?

So what was up with him and Denaria, anyway? Hook, how come you haven't made a fanfiction about that one yet?

Yeah I knew that sad story already. sad I wanted all of those Jedi back. Oh well. I'll just think Stass is Adi. Like my sister. How much simpler things would be!

Oh and don't bother typing out StarWarsFreak2006...you can call me Kyle. And Hook, I am also surprised you haven't furthered the discussion on Denaria and Passel's relationship. If there was one, of course. wink

If Denaria ever spoke a word, I always thought she'd sound like Colleen Dewhurst. If anyone knows who that is... But the potential love story between Kee and Argente would have been awesome.

As for that Neimoidian next to Gunray in AOTC, that thing was a nightmare of continuity. The book listed him as just a Neimoidian. The script said he was Rune Haako. Between TPM and AOTC and the move from England to Australia they managed to lose the mask for Haako, so they put an old Daultay Dofine mask on. Then the EU decided to call it Gilramos Libkath. Then somehow the credits listed him as Lott Dod, played by Alan Ruscoe when really the person under there was David Healey. The voice was Christopher Truswell I believe. I think the HoloNet finally said that Lott Dod had been in a speeder accident and had reconstructive surgery.
