The late, great Sam Kinison. A stand-up comedian and actor who was known for yelling loudly, using foul language and being funny as hell. Sadly, he died in 1992 in a tragic car accident.

Sam was funny as hell. Love TPM. It's my favorite of the PT and number 4 for me in the SAGA.

oh..never heard of him..but i also like TPM because of Liam Neeson who is one of my favorites..his character was a strong presence in the PT..even in AOTC and ROTS, even if he was not physically in them.

Just finished watching it again a few seconds ago. It still stands imo as by far the worst SW movie, but I have to admit it has improved with time, and I enjoyed it a little more then the other occasions I have seen it. Possibly because with time I have gotten used to horrors such as Jar Jar and the Gungans and Anakins dialogue. I also see it more as like the first chapter of a book rather then a stand alone film which makes it a little easier to watch.

Still somethings irritated me a lot. Such as the foreshadowing stuff. Some of it was fine (Palpatines line about watching Anakin's career with great interest) but some of it was stupid, like R2-D2's stupid little ceremony after he saves the ship. He was a droid, theyd have seen him as little more then a part of the ship. The whole "This droid deserves our gratitude" thing annoys me no end. It was only because it was R2-D2, any other droid would have been ignored. Same with the "fateful introductions". "R2-D3, meet C-3PO", "Anakin Skywalker, meet Obi Wan Kenobi". Lucas says he wants people to watch the movies in order, 1 to 6. People doing that for the first time must think these scenes are a bit weird.

I think the fateful introductions are fine. It's also important to remember that with the density and speed of the SW films, they were clearly made to be watch multiple times. When you do that, some of these scenes then jump out and have different meaning than they did the first time through. I think that is only good film making that allows one's film to be effective and evolving through multiple viewings.

Artoo is given praise because for some people in the GFFA, droids are more than just automations. They are treated as equals. Note how well Anakin and Luke treat the droids. Padme also comes to favor Artoo for his deeds and bravery.

If i'm honest it's my favorite prequel movie. Then ROTS.

After re-watching the movie, I did actually like it somewhat better. A lot of it has to do with KotOR, ROTS, and the Clone Wars novels I went into. The space battle felt more epic and less like a lame rehash of the Battle of Yavin. The lightsaber duel also, knowing that it's the first confrontation between the Jedi and Sith in a thousand years, now means a good deal more than just something thrown in for the heck of it.

There's still parts of the movie that make me cringe, but oh well.

Actually, the Battle of Naboo is closer to the Battle of Endor. Watch the two back to back.

Although TPM is my least favorite of the Prequel films, I still love it.

TPM is probably my top fave from the prequals. Most people I don't think give it a fair enough view because of how it felt kiddie-fied, but if you watch it and look you can really see the political undertones of the movie and how in reality the Jedi unknowingly had turned into the same the dimplomats in the senate had, they just didn't realize it.

I think it certainly has its shortcomings, but it gave us some brilliant moments in the entire saga as well. The final duel towards the film's finale was spectacular and was the first time we ever saw a true lightsaber duel (where all participants were in their prime).

Could have been handled with a mention. Didn't NEED to see Tatooine. In conversation he could have told us that he had been born there, but was sold off or whatever.
