You could say the same thing for Darth Vader and ROTS. Vader's helmet was plastered all over the city, and we got 30 seconds of Vader. The rest was Anakin crying.
I'm just kidding, by the way. But I feel you..

I believe their referencing that the ads showed the Vader of the 70s and 80s instead of being as small as Christensen. By no means is 6'1 small, but Vader is like close to 7' and really bulky, so I guess that would be one criticism that someone shorter and not as muscular was dawning the suit.

Why didn't they have someone taller in the suit? Would it have potentially caused too much of a discrepancy? They could have said in the movie as an explanation "Vader was mutated by the lava/Dark Side and that is why he is bigger." Or when they gave him new legs, they could have added length, so he appears more intimidating.
But to ask a bit of a question with the original OP, should Darth Maul have lived?

One hundred and twelve pages of why Maul should not have been killed so illogically.
Awesome!

If Maul was able to witness the time period after his death, would he have agreed with Sidious that his death was a "necessary loss?"
Or do you think he would have disagreed?

Maul is the guy with horns and tattoos. Dooku is the old guy that bears a striking resemblance to Saruman.

I know that,
but I mean I must have been thinking of Maul when Sidious was talking about somebody else. But I can't remember who it was though..
But anyway, I wonder what Maul would have thought about Dooku or Anakin taking his place? I mean, ex-Jedi? That would have been a low blow to his ego!

I don't think it really would have been a blow to his ego at all. Maul never envisioned himself as anything less than the eventual heir to the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith. The fact that a former Jedi would one day take over his role as the apprentice wasn't anywhere on his radar.

I don't think so. Especially if you take into account the EU, I don't think Maul had any desire to surpass Sidious. Sidious was his world, all he knew. He wanted to serve him, to make him "proud", and to kill a lot of Jedi. He never made a move to betray his Master, as every other Sith tries to do at least once. Yes, in one of the books he fought Sidious, but that was more out of fear and anger of being replaced or "not loved" anymore, not because Maul thought "Here's my chance to take the mantle". i think that's one of the many things that sets Maul apart from every other Sith and makes him so interesting.
To have a fallen Jedi become a Sith Lord? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that would have been infuriating to such an ardent Jedi-hater as Sith. And, of course, if you read the comic where a version of Maul fights Vader, Maul says as much. Vader is "too Jedi" for him and wholly unworthy to be called a Sith.

I'll agree with that assessment. I also think that one reason we never see Maul in a frame of mind to betray Sidious is due to the point in his training we see him at. Had he survived I am certain that he would have eventually usurped the title of Sith Lord from Sidious.
