The reviews overall were positive (rottentomatoes), the B.O. success was not phenomenal but still excellent, and it has lead to some other nice spinoff like the clone wars cartoon (also sucessful).
I agree with that. Like I said earlier, I had no problem with the movie, but a lot of friends hated it and said they like PT better. I actually felt AOTC was a lot better and then when the Clone Wars animated series came out it made me appreciate the movie even more.

The CGI, while it seems like they did an excellent job with the motions (better than other CGI things I've seen) it seems like they could redo it now to look more realistic.

I don`t think AOTCs failed it was a great film,sure it had some flaws,but the good outweigh the bad

Overall, I find AOTC to be the weakest link in the Saga. For the most part, the CGI becomes distracting - especially in the droid factory scene. There's just way too much for my taste. And the love story could have been expanded upon and the execution done a lot better. Those are my only major gripes with it, but it's enough to make it my least favorite film in the Saga.

i truly liked it better than tpm when i saw it and i still think its better,at least it focuses on the story of anakin turning to darkside and the clone wars however good or bad people thought that was. it wasn't great, it sometimes had the feeling of greatness but it was loads better than tpm

I read the novel before I saw the film...I left the theatre disappointed. The acting was horrible. I couldn't stand it. I saw it the next day with some friends only because I had a ticket. I did not see it again until about 6 months after it was released on DVD. I eventually bought it because I knew I'd need it to complete the collection. I've since come to enjoy certain scenes, but I still skip through a lot of it.
Despite its flaws, I preferred TPM, which I attribute to the fact that I was in 8th grade and totally obsessed with the films...by my Junior year in high school (when AOTC was released), I was seriously contemplating majoring in film in college, and had become almost too critical of films...
I'm trying not to get my hopes up for ROTS...

This is exactly what my friends say,... almost word for word too... Do I know you? 
Their arguments are very similar and it all points back to the acting. I haven't heard to many complaints about the cgi from friends, and I really find it interesting that many seemed to notice it.

I dont really like AOTC either because it is really a love story so ROTS should be the best of the prequels
