	Christ is the first activist of non-violence in written history, that is why many non-Christians and atheists consider him a great man. Anakin, aside from the virgin birth, shares very little with Jesus. Even his self sacrifice is different because he does it for one person whereas Jesus does it for everyone. Really Anakins tale in alot of ways is an aberration of Christs story. There are two trains of thought on what happened on the day that Christ died ( both are present in " The Passion " ). One is that Jesus stoicly took his torture, and died for our sins. The other is that WHILE stoicly taking his torture and crucifixion, hell was on the verge of breaking through to the earth and God would allow it because of the treatment of his son. This is why Jesus cries out to his Father to forgive his killers and as long as Christ held it together, Satan wouldnt have dominion in the physical world. Hardline Catholics hold this to be true because its consistent with the behaviour of God the father in the Old Testament. This is one of the reasons that the First Vatican Council was disbanded and that variation of Catholicism is considered by some to be heresey. In many ways the exact opposite occurs with Anakin. He gives into his pain and suffering, allows anger and hatred to fuel his power and the death of his goodness ( for lack of a better term ) allows a great evil to physically have dominion over the Galaxy. Instead of just dying he becomes an agent of that evil and doesnt merge with the force. I was told by one of my theology professors in college that if Christ would have selfishly cried for himself on the day of his death, Satan would have won and Christ and all his powers would become his weapon to use. -----signature----- " Bring the sled " - Al Swearengen " Dying all the time. 	The point of Jesus is that he wasn't selfish. He was the son of God, and he had to save us from original sin. He himself was not a sinner, he was pure and right. That is just who he was, anything to indicate otherwise would destroy Jesus's image for us. He didn't fall to dark powers, nor would he be tempted by evil. He is stronger than Anakin in that regard. 	Many historians think that Jesus lead a fairly normal life in Egypt, taking an apprenticeship with his father as many boys do, before he returned to the area around the Sea of Gallilea when he was thirty. 	I don't think you can assign him one figure. Anakin and Luke for that matter are the combinations of many heroes from eastern, and western mythology.
