Theres always such widespread opinons on whether hes great or not so great, but most people do seem to agree that he IS Anakin Skywalker. I'm just curious to see some opinions on how you think his performance has been thus far...

AOTC performance - Whiney, brattey, and crappy. *Just* the way I like it! 
ROTS performance - Decent (well, we'll see, but, uh, so far, it's not looking nor sounding bad by any means!)

I've never had a problem with Hayden in the role of Anakin. I think he did a good job.
But then others would probably disagree...

In the wake of a lot of people bashing Hayden after AotC, I was kind of apathetic about him. But once I got away from all that crap and just watched for myself, I love him in the role. Parfait.

Opinion on his performance thus far: Rather than say he's perfect! Great! I'd say he's captured the tortured soul part of Anakin as well as can be expected from an actor working with our good ol' director guy, Lucas. His voice however is so dead-sounding, hardly audible and squeaky, I wish I could just wish they'd have chosen someone who could really inject some life/energy into their performance no matter how many poor lines of dialogue they were given. Hayden's only drawbacks for me so far would be his deadpan? voice and well, the lifelessness and lack of enthusiasm he seems to have for the role. Wake up, Anakin. He looks much the same from what I've seen of RotS, but he absolutely NAILS Vader, except for his voice of course.
That's my opinion, free of charge. I hope you like it.

I thought he went over the top in scene with Padme packing but other than that he's been perfect.
The tusken slaughter and the subsequent confession was the best (non ian mcdiarmond) acted scene of the entire saga, imho.

I stand by all the casting in the PT, except maybe Jimmy smitts.
but I do think anakin could be better realized, but I feel hayden is the right man for the job
Nick Stahl is my other pick for anakin. He looks a lot like Mark Hamill IMHO

I think he's horrible. He CANNOT ACT. He cannot deliver lines convincingly. It's not as bad in scenes with Natalie Portman, because she's even worse than he is, but in scenes with the excellent Ewan, it's very obvious. I actually felt embarassed for him when I saw the movie the first time. Even where the writing is not bad, I don't believe he's Anakin Skywalker - I believe he's some guy trying his best to be Anakin Skywalker and failing.

Hayden is Anakin. I thought he did great in Clones, playing a difficult character, somewhat unstable and annoying even at times... not an easy task. As for ROTS, from what I've seen of it, he's portrayal of Anakin has only gotten better... Not to mention his performance as that other persona of his Character.
