Dooku is one of the best characters in the PT!! He adds a touch of class to the films. Whereas in TPM we had Darth Maul - the silent but deadly killer, whos' appearance struck fear into his opponents, Dooku is a different kettle of fish. I love the sense of mystery surrounding his character in AOTC, we don't know if he's good or bad straight away. You think, when watching AOTC, that Dooku's strengths lie in his diplomatic skills and his ability to manipulate situations/people. Only as the film progresses do we see how bad he really is. He doesn't really seem a threatening character, more of a puppet master for the Seperatists. HOWEVER when he's cornered by Anakin/Obi Wan we witness how dangerous/skilled a Sith he really is. He has an elegant/graceful fighting style, he barely seems to brake a sweat. I love the way he pretty much held his own against Yoda and even had the savy to do a runner when he knew he couldn't actually beat Yoda. I also really like the way he taunts his opponents - "Master Kenobi, you disappoint me....Yoda holds you in such high esteem.....surely you can do better!" and in ROTS when Anakin says his powers have doubled since they last met Dooku slyly responds "Good, twice the pride, double the fall!" Honourable mention has to go to Dooku's curved lightsabre hilt, pure class for a pure class character!

It's kind of EU related, but one of the parts I like about Dooku is that he becomes something like a father figure in the Seperatist propaganda campaign, and I can see the paternal connection, as after his death in RotS, the Seperatist leaders are clearly rattled and irritable.
The fact he's a 'convincing' speaker as well as a powerful figure seduced (and used) by a dark lord also makes an obvious connection to Saruman, which I love.

I definitely agree ! Dooku was the driving force behind the Separatist movement. He was the one who held them together. In fact, we clearly saw how loyal the separatist "cronies" were to him. They trusted him with everything they got  ! Also, there were no signs of "betrayal" from the Separatist cronies. That's how much they respected Dooku!

A wonderful, tragic figure. To climb so high as a Jedi only to end up as fodder for Anakin, with his reputation destroyed makes Dooku, IMO, the second most tragic figure in the entire series (Behind Vader/Anakin of course). If only Lee had been given more screen time....

I thought it was cool that Dooku called lightsabers "swords." Makes him sound like he's from a distant time.
Fun stat: Dooku was born 102 years before ANH (according to the new Vader: Ultimate Guide)

I would have liked to see more interaction w/ Dooku and Sidious. Some moments maybe when he's bowing to Palpatine or some holagram activity? Just more screen time to show they were the two siths at the time, not when Palps just tells Anakin to kill him in ROTS. Dooku is very cool.

That is so true. Many fail to realize that Dooku is one of Star Wars' greatest tragedies. Just imagine --- he started out as a good Jedi and have been so for more than 6-7 decades. His apprentice, Qui-Gon Jinn, died, and then he realized that the Republic and the Jedi Council was crumbling under a corrupt and unfair rule. So he renounced his place in the Jedi Order in hopes of "making a difference".
For short, Dooku's turn to the dark side was not brought about by his personal selfishness (unlike Anakin who did it all for himself :P). Dooku was a visionary who wanted a better government. he wanted to do what he believed was right for the galaxy. And what did he get in the end?! He got one-upped by Palpy! AERGH!!
To quote the Linkin' Park song "In the End",
