I figure someone needs to wrap up the trilogy of threads, right? Someone who is not a mod and may not be famous...(yet.) Old Zen! Anyway, let me begin...
IMHO the best single moment in ROTS is when Anakin Skywalker newly knighted Darth Vader marches on the Jedi Temple with an army of Stormtroopers behind him to purge the Jedi..every single one of them, under orders from his new Sith Master: Darth Sidious. The way he is marching with his troops and has his hood up like that and the black cloak with the lightsaber out and his dark cold ruthless expression..WOW! The music is awesome here too!
This thing for me just spells out Revenge of the Sith..Anakin now a Sith enacting his own personel revenge on the Jedi for taking him away from his mother, then his wife and holding him back from his rightful place as THE chosen one!
I love SW!
What is your single favorate thing in that picture?

Very cheeky Zen.
Best single thing in ROTS?
Has to be Padme I mean Palpatine vs Yoda and Obi/Ani's conversation to each other before their duel. Great stuff.

I'll have to go with the Padmé's Ruminations scene. The brilliance of this wordless exchange cannot be praised enough. It is exactly what we needed to see to solidify the reason why Anakin turned, and that he felt distressed and helpless about his own decision.

This has the possibility to be a HUGE list. There are a ton of great things. But if we're going hands down, I'm going to have to say that the end of the movie is the best. Not the END like the credits, but from the point at which Padme gets to Mustafar until the credits. On the DVD commentary, Rick McCallum makes a comment on how he feels that from Padme and Anakin on Mustafar on, the movie is perfect. I completely agree. The two duels, Vader/twins being born, Star Destroyer bridge, Padme's funeral, twin's fate, just perfection in a movie.

Well it would be perfect if only they left the Yoda landing on Dagobah scene in.

There are far too many moments of pure greatness to narrow it down to one. This is going to take me a LONG time.

Vaders first breath!! That was the moment everyone had been waiting for and it did'nt disappoint. The Ruminations scene was my favourite "unexpected" moment of RotS..It's lovely to watch on DVD, but nothing can compare to experiencing enormous panoramic views of Coruscant at dusk in an eerily silent theatre (chills!)

Err, I guess the Order 66- Fantastic! The purge of the Jedi is brill! Although, it could have shown more of Anakin in the temple though, but otherwise....woah!
Either that or the Padme on Mustafar to the end of the DVD!
Wowsers!

The wordless pre-Vader Padme/Anakin exchange across the Coruscant skyline (what I guess is being called "Padme' Ruminations" scene). This scene really struck me on my first viewing and continues to do so after at least a dozen more. Conveys the characters' emotions better than any of the film's dialog-and goes to show that GL really hasn't lost his "artsier" pre-SW side, as some have claimed.

The best single thing about ROTS?... If I had to pick one, I would say the sequence on Mustaphar from when Padme lands, to when ObiWan and Vader begin fighting. It still sends chills all over my body when the fight begins. This is due to the dialogue, acting, setting, music, writing, directing.... It is just perfect.

I've thought about this, and although it might not be the single best moment, I do think the "money shot" is the Pod rising into The Senate, with Sidious and Yoda dueling in the pod, and Battle of the Hero's becomes kind of like a "war beat" beat as the camera pans back and you take in the entire Senate. Stunning moment.

lump in throat - the ending montage..i'll never forget it. i remember reading pablo's diaries - when they were in london recording the soundtrack and the pause in his delivery when he said .....the haunting (not sure if he used that adjective) familiar leia's theme....and i just knew the ending would turn on the waterworks.
ruminations - for so many reasons.
and i could continue as we all could.

Rummination is the best scene ever put in a SW movie.
For me it's order 66.
