Its a tough call for me to dtermine whose lines hurt more - Jar Jar or child anakin... They can both be so.. stilted? Is that the word? When it is clear they are just reading lines and are lacking in the delivery.

"yipppeeeee!"
"Alll my life."
"Are you an angel?"

"Mesa your humble servant!"
"Terrible thing... Terrrrrible things!"
"I spake!"

Well, I could have done without the Gungans altogether - especially Boss Nass. They were okay in the battle scene but they and Jar-Jar were just too cartoonish and silly - as was the bumble-bee thing that owned Anakin and Shmi. It would have been better if these characters were human.

The “Roger-Roger” of the droid soldiers – again, too cartoonish.

And I like romance and some mush in my Star Wars but that balcony scene in ROTS makes me cringe with embarrassment every time because the dialogue was just so. very. bad. I actually like Anakin's over-the-top 14th century-courtier emoting in the fireplace scene. But it would have been nice if Padme had a pulse. All the romance scenes in the Prequels (except one) would have worked better if Padme seemed the least bit honestly attracted to Anakin. I attribute that to Natalie’s performance. In fact, Natalie’s Padme was kinda dry and emotionless most of the time which to me is why the romance was not 100% believable – which is a shame because it was a major plot point in the Prequels.

As many have mentioned - the excellent Darth Maul’s death at the hands of padawan Obi as he just stood there for endless seconds and watched it happen to himself. Wha-?

Sidious defeating three Jedi Masters one right after another in record time. Sort of made the Jedi look weak and detracted from the almost holy mystique with which they are referred to in the OT.

^^^

The battle between the Jedi and Palpatine is awesome in the book. GL probably couldn't have gotten the PG13 rating with it... but he still could have tried to do something better. It makes the Jedi look a lot less like wimps than they did in the film.

Padme the Cheerleader and Anakin the EmoFreak and the HAIRBRUSHING SCENE is at the top of my list.
Followed by Jar-Jar's helping Palpatine's rise to power.
Followed by the I Hate Sand scene.
Followed by the trip through the planet core in TPM. It's basically just a scene to make us hate Jar-jar for being a spazzy idiot.

And I hate that they left out the deleted scenes in ROTS. First of all, any scene in which Anakin and Obi-Wan look like they're trying to get the other to steal third base is just full of win. And the formation of the Rebellion was supposed to happen at all in the movies!

Episode 1

  • Honestly, the beginning bores me a little up until we get to Tatooine, and Boss Nass is not one of my favorites.

Episode 2

  • Anakin/Padme scenes, or scenes where Obi-Wan is reprimanding Anakin like a two year old (not that he doesn't deserve it, and that is my problem exactly). Just cringe-worthy. I barely watch episode 2 because there is just so much suckage.

Episode 3

  • Scenes on Kashyyyk, and beginning Anakin/Padme, but overall nothing too bad, and the movie keeps me engaged all the way through.

ETA: And I hate that they left out the deleted scenes in ROTS. First of all, any scene in which Anakin and Obi-Wan look like they're trying to get the other to steal third base is just full of win.

Yeah, I wish they would have left this in. I guess they cut it because the movie was getting too long, but it would have helped the PT had each movie been 3 hrs +. grin

No no.

Anakin should have simply used a cryptic stand off approach, which turned into raw aggressive lust (an impulsive and powerful embrace for example, when Padme was clearly tempted) in order to seduce and then seal the deal.

It would have killed two birds with one stone.

Instead, Anakin was portrayed as an obsessive stalker.

I wanna be padme now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waaaaaah! I want the Anakin dance! blush But yeah, the love scenes were painfully awkward, and made me blush, not in the good way. More in the "i can't believe that anyone would say that, because I sure wouldn't. WTH, Anakin/Padme?"

QFT

the two have zero chemistry on screen, but this scene is almost creepy.

oddly, and also it's a bit creepy but especially in AotC and RotS there was great screen chemistry for Padme and Obi-wan, really disturbing at times.

<<<Talk about subtlety. Or should I say the lack of it.
Instead of showing us character progression and development, we get "BAMMED" with it.
"See, I showed you via some contrived dialogue that Padme was soo in love with him that it clouded her judgement." I for one, would rather have not been force-fed her blindness.>>>

Actually, I always saw this more as foreshadowing about Anakin. He is so blinded by lust for power and his obsession with Padme that he can't see that he is dooming himself to the Dark Side, being played by Palpatine and betraying the Jedi.

As for the worst scene, I think it's Padme running in the field and Anakin riding the back of that animal. When I first saw Padme all I could think of was "The Sound of Music".

Jake Lloyd make a really annoying Anakin.
Out of all the kids in world!!!! I think they should have given in more thought about who is going to play Anakin since he is a evry important character. I'm ok with Hayden Christianson, but Lloyd annoys me.
