Qui Gon, the best character in the Saga?

When I first watched Episode 1, I was amazed. I still find it as my favorite Star Wars film or at least the best in the Prequel Trilogy. I think what makes TPM so wonderful is Qui-Gon, or really, Liam Neeson. There is something about Qui Gon's Character that is empowering, that is full of energy. He represents a man who feels the force in the moment, he is a person who is for the good and understands the nature of the living force.
A lot of what Qui Gon says is reminiscent to what Yoda says in ESB.
"Your Focus Determines your Reality" is a wonderful quote, and a wonderful view of how to view one's life.
Qui-Gon always seem to be in front.
Qui gon seems to have embodied everything that is Good. He represented a person that was the wisest of the wise.
He understood the art of living.
Liam Neeson played it beautiful, with such passion and with such force(no pun intended), such calmness, and such confidence.
I argue Qui Gon maybe the best character in the saga.
Favorite Moments:
-I love it when he touches Shmi.
-I love it when he jumps up into the ship after he fights Darth Maul and he answers Anakin
"We shall be patient" and Anakin says, "Oh, you're a jedi too, please to meet you."
And Qui Gon laughs. I love how he laughs and is so full of life. Obi Wan seems to be a little more restricted and by the code.
-I love it when they are at the Dinner table.
My other favorite characters: Han Solo, Yoda and C3PO.

Great topic. I couldnt agree with you more. When i watch ANH and old Ben is telling Luke about the Jedi of old I dont think of Mace Yoda Anakin or any of them, I think of QGJ. He was the best character in the PT by miles. Liam did a great job, I think its the best preformance in the whole saga.

I agree with both of you! Qui gon is a great character, i have always thought that Liam is one of the best actors in the saga. He is up there with Alec.

While I cannot agree that Qui Gon Jinn is the best in the saga, I can agree that he is the best new addition. Hands down, he is my favorite PT Jedi and IMO, the one Jedi who most resembles the remarks made by Ben in Star Wars. The thing that I liked above all else about Jinn is that his character really seemed to have conviction with everything he was doing. Other leading Jedi seemed to be going through the motions, like Yoda, Mace and the Council members.
All in all, Qui-Gon gets my vote as the best new character to come straight out of the prequel trilogy.

I upped an old thread about Qui Gon that asks this question in a slightly different way.. I like what was added here but I'm locking to avoid redundancy.
