Does anyone feelw weird watching a new hope now or even empire when a scene with chewie is in it thinking to your self that he and yoda were good friends?
I don't know about anyone else but I would love to hear your thoughts. I find it completly moronic to even of had chewie in the prequels. Is the galaxy that small that chewie, a kid boba fett, anakin skywalker/darth vader created c3p0, lucas filmed a scene with a kid greedo were all tied together in this huge galaxy?

You know, if Star Wars had advertised itself as a dramatic masterpiece, I would say we'd have a lot to complain about with the out of the blue characterizations and quick changes of mind - Obi-Wan, the negotiator, suddenly tongue tied on Mustafar and a fairly intelligent Anakin suddenly going brain dead. But it wasn't a drama, it was a fantasy-adventure. These, as we saw with Batman, Superman, Hulk, Hellboy, and other adventures, do not waste time hoping the audience won't suspend their belief systems - that is what the audience is supposed to know prior to walking in with their popcorn. It isn't going to be true to life as we know it, it is going to be about Sith who can choke you to death without touching you and Jedi who can slice you in half with a *lightsaber*. Those things don't exist in real life.  . The drama we saw is just as out of touch with reality, but it touches on it and you only have to use it to connect the scenes. On the other hand, one can make sense of it with a drawn out and in depth analysis, discovering a means for things to make sense based on what characters thought, but didn't say. Nonetheless, if one is going to take the movie on its face, then it is naught more than a cool fantasy adventure and the cool stuff like the use of the Force, lightsabers, space battles, wicked devices like Grievous, R2, C3P0 and Yoda carry the day.

Were they in fact “good friends?” I just assumed Yoda was extending gratitude to the two (high-ranking) Wookies who saved his life. ROTS merely demonstrates that the admirable qualities Chewie possessed in the OT were long-standing.
Honestly, if you’re okey-day with Luke retaining the name of his mass-murdering daddy (a bit of an oversight on Ben's part), and with Leia shoving her tongue down her brother’s throat, this comparatively small stuff shouldn’t rankle.

I do feel a little icky about how the star wars universe continues to shrink. But it did begin shrinking in the original trilogy when it turns out Vader is Luke's father and Leia is his sister!!
On the matter of "Skywalker" its probably a very common name on Tatooine.. Probbably akin to Smith or Jones.. (. o James Earl Skywalker )
