My question is this: is Order 66 a verbal command that all clone troopers now or is it a genetic command to make a seamless transition from pro-Jedi to anti-Jedi?

I believe that the clones are somewhat like Jedi- they know they are to serve the Republic. But unlike the Jedi, they serve it's leader questionlessly too.
What I wonder is how the clones knew Sidious and even referred to him as "My lord". I mean, did they not know that he created the war they were fighting?

It's just an order iirc. It isn't genetically hardwired into the clones. Why hardwire an order into them when they are already genetically programed to follow any order without question.

It was just an Order- I don't think it was programmed into the clones as basic training. I wish Lucas just gave us more insight to it. Like, obviously they'd already been briefed on what Order 66 would entail, but who told them this?
Did the Kaminoans know that the fleet they were creating for the Jedi and the Republic would one day betray the Jedi? How did the clones know Sidious?
This all boggles my brain.

Since he is commander in chief, he probably has private conversations with high ranking clones from time to time and orders the clones to not mention it to the Jedi.

No, because the order came from the commander in chief, who outranks the Jedi, and that order 66 is a contingency order that labels the Jedi as traitors and to kill them on sight.

Do you think they had to receive it from Sidious to put it into effect? Imagine if there was an order 67 to clean the latrines out and Cody stuffed up and accidentally ordered 66 instead.

Not necessarily, but it had to come from the supreme commander/commander in chief of the Republic. I doubt that anyone else other than the sith knew all the contigency orders though, so the odds of anyone else calling order 66 is probably slim to none.

This thread has got me wondering how "human" the clones were. How prone were they to the foibles of human behaviour. Could they conceivably disobey an order in the way that a regular person could. Could they wake up one day and think "Man I'm sick of the military. I'm going to open a bar on Tatooine." They're flesh and blood, not machines after all. I wonder to what extent there were genetically hardwired to overcome the human randomness factor. You would think if it was possible, all steps would be taken to eliminate that kind of possibility.

In the eu, some clones disobeyed order 66, but iirc they weren't the normal breed of clones. And a few fathered some children and one of them regained the memories of Jango(ala the Duncan Idaho gholas in the dune series).

Yeah, you'd have to be very careful with clones. I mean, if you hardwired them to follow all orders along a chain of command and for some reason the chain of command changed, you could have some troubles on your hands. Is it the lawful chain of command at any one time, or a chain of command programmed in? On the other hand, if you relied on just indoctrination, rather than actual genetic hard wiring, you could face the kind of thing mentioned above, with clones making their own decisions about things based on their individual life experiences. Maybe that's why they moved away from Clones later on.

Thanks for your opinions! Here is something that just came to mind: if it is genetic, would it have gone in with the genetic programming like the double-speed growing of the troops? Is it possible that it was included but just not mentioned? What do you think?

Then a follow a question is when was the Order 66 "chip" installed. The Kaminos are dealing with the Jedi and believe that they are being paid by the Jedi (Sifo-Dias). Wouldn't the Kamonians tell Yoda, "Oh by the way, each Clone comes with a pre-programed Order to kill the Jedi Order upon command of the Chancellor."
